• Worst Bridge Game ever experienced!

  Pros

  Easy to download and also easy to play.

  Cons

  The computer partner is terrible at bidding and playing. The computer opponents are not any better than your partner. If you know how to play bridge this will only make you frustrated and not worth downloading. The author of this game obviously is a very poor bridge player but has done some good programming in some areas outside of the playing. The advertisement for the game claims that you can select the style of bidding but I have not found that option after downloading.

  Summary

  If you know how to play bridge and wish to learn to be a good player find another bridge game. If you do not know how to play at all this game could be good for you for a few weeks till you can move on to a good one.

  Pros

  Bidding usual reasonable, but can adjust bad contract. Play by opponents tends to be good. Several good features. Despite cons listed below, I find the game addictive and fun.

  Cons

  Partner bids NT with no stopper in unbid suit, or bids new suit at high level instead of supporting my suit. Game doesn't use takeout doubles or cue bids. Can't review hands at end or look at last trick. Players often let declarer win first trick in suit cheaply instead of winning trick. Partner often makes bad opening leads (as do opponents) and fails to lead my suit at NT. When correcting contract, you don't get to see partner's hand. Would be nice to have several extra features: a button to claim or concede remaining tricks; an undo button to fix accidental play of wrong card.

  Summary

  Fun game that should improve with later revisions.

  Fast, intuitive, easy and stable.

  The computer bidding can be a little odd sometimes. Also the computer's play is sometimes poor but plenty challenging enough for me.

  Pros

  It's a fast program that moves right along.

  Cons

  You can't replay a hand. You can't view the last trick. It doesn't recognize basic conventions very well, and it often overbids or underbids significantly. That's probably the worst issue.... bidding is often suspect.

  Summary

  It's ok for getting back into the whole bridge playing mode, but it really isn't helpful in any other way. You won't learn anything new from this program, nor can you go back and review your mistakes. The owner asks for a contribution to help offset costs, which I would be glad to do if the program had more sophistication.

  Pros

  There's a replay feature, which means you can do it again. The hands are varied and challenging; the automatic scoring feature is nice to have especially if you're not too much up on how to score.

  Cons

  I didn't recognise any conventions being bid. There is no way you can view the 4 hands after the game is over to study alternative ways of playing the hand out. There's no tutorial, or advice on playing.

  Summary

  I love this just for the sake of keeping my brain agile. There are no bridge groups here where I live so just having the computer to play against keeps me in tune with the game... in case a bridge group springs up in the future.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on May 10, 2010<p/>Yeh, being free is probably the best feature
