Editors' review

This automation program offers a good set of capabilities in a highly accessible package. QuicKeys can type, paste text, manipulate program menus, move and click your mouse, send e-mails, dial a modem, fill in Web forms, and even batch-process files. To automate more complex tasks, you can join actions into conditional sequences (for instance, check if a Word document is open, and if not, open it and paste a text fragment) and use variables. The recording tool lets you design sequences in no time just by performing a string of actions on your PC. If you work with sensitive information, you can lock actions with a password. The tabbed interface is compact and clear. Though not for IT professionals, this utility is a good choice for home and office users looking to boost their productivity.

    "Best Macro proggy"

    May 30, 2005   |   By idegart

    Version: QuicKeys 2.5.3

    Pros

I have tried virtually all the macro apps available.

There is no one match QuicKeys. Can only be compared with network automation’s Automate v.6, but the last is to heavy for a single office PC or home user or its pocket. Regarding Download.com review, saying that it takes too much memory, this is true; the ram usage never dropped below 10MB but never passed 13MB. However in this ram consumption are included: spell checking anywhere, screen capturing, unlimited clip book items, open text selection in new browser window and more, which normally cannot be found to a single program. I mean with most macro applications, you will need separate screen capturer, spell checker, clip book extender etc.

    Cons

Missing ability to export/import only the desired items - only imports/exports full actions.

    "Beautiful and easy to use"

    February 28, 2005   |   By panicola

    Version: QuicKeys 2.5.3

    Pros

This is just what I wanted! It can do anything and it's so very easy to use.

I've tried several other keyboard managers, but this one tops them all.

The execution of the hotkeys is also immediate. (I tried HotkeyPro before, and this program always took a fraction of a second before it executed the command).

    Cons

    None as yet.
