Version: Privacy Law and HIPAA Compliance Folder Hider 1.3
"It's simple, it's free, but it doesn't do everything you might want"
Pros: The program hides folders and their contents from Windows Explorer. Very easy to use. You can hide/show folders with hotkeys, or not enable them. You can option to run at Window startup. You can enter stealth mode when program starts or when it minimizes or both. You can leave stealth mode with a hot key. You can require a password when programs starts, when using hide/show hotkeys, when leaving stealth mode, or any/all of the above.
Cons: It doesn't completely hide all traces of the folder. The programs claims that the Recent Documents list items and other shortcuts will not take you to the file when hidden, but it will anyway. It doesn't show up in the Task Manager Applications tab, but it does in the Processes tab, as PLHCFH.exe. You cannot hide a folder if a file in it is in use. Backup software will show the hidden folder with the word HIDDEN added to the folder name.

Version: Privacy Law and HIPAA Compliance Folder Hider 1.3
Pros: First, this software is from a legitimate company. Second, you can't get any simpler. Add folder and click "Hide". The files stay in a list (until you delete them), so bringing them to the surface again is faster still.
Cons: As the other person (Tom) said, this program does not hide its tracks completely. So a sophisticated computer operator could tell that you have hidden files. So it by no means deserves five stars.
Summary: I use this software to hide sensitive files and folders from the average user. For that purpose it is perfect and can be no simpler or quick. You don't even need instructions to operate it, as the controls are so self evident. I like this product a ... read more >>
