PreView is a free security application that lets you measure how secure your Windows computer is configured against known threats in the wild. By looking at four critical security elements on your computer, a security score is generated. This score is based on the core system security configurations, installed commercial security software, installed security patches, and how effective your firewall protection is configured. PreView Security Score is similar to a credit score.
PreView looks at all of the core risk areas on your computer, compares that against known threats, and assigns a risk score to each area. You are able to get an overall picture of your computer's security health, and drill down into what you can do to improve your computer's security and the security score. PreView also allows you to do a detailed firewall security scan against your PC and also includes an antivirus test. Solutions for found weaknesses are presented to help you tune up your security. Version 1.10.11 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Pros: It measures security pretty well...

"Good program, but too bad it's discontinued now"
Pros: I used Pivx PreView a few years ago, but now I "rediscovered it" when looking on my harddrive, where I stored the install file.
Cons: Doesn't recognise my Panda Internet Security 2007.
Doesn't update anymore.
Firewall test doesn't work no more.

"Okay for new users, useless for experienced or IT professionals"
Cons: I would not use program as an acurate measuring stick for security, though it does have some merit. This program didn't detect my antivirus software (Clamwin), nor does it detect hardware firewalls and other commonplace security measures.
If you are Windows and user truely worried about security make sure you get your windows updates, a good antivirus program (i.e. Grisoft's AVG Antivirus Free) and keep up to date.
