PostCard is a Cocoa OSX for creating email-able post cards from your own photos or any image. Similar to the .Mac postcards. Cards have an "unlicensed" sticker unless a $5 license is purchased (after which all cards are normal).

I too was initially very critical of the need to buy a new license for each new machine, especially as I upgrade my powerbooks every couple of years. But when I thought about how much I spend at Starbucks compared to how much use I get from this fine app. and the fact that lots of Mac users unfortunately do not pay for their apps. I calmed down. As far as I know this is still the best custom postcard app. and I use it ALL the time. That is, I did until this latest version: under 10.5.6 the "copy to pasteboard" function no longer works. Once that's fixed Postcard will be right up there again.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. Sure, you can use Apple's iCards, but you need the overpriced .Mac subscription to do CUSTOM cards. Postcard takes care of that in a very elegant manner! Easy to use and fun! Awesome little app!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. I was glad to read of the licensing restriction here prior to downloading but it's hardly a big deal. This is a very sophisticated program... because it is so simple to use. I'll knock out quick images in Vue d'Esprit, stamps in Photoshop or Illustrator and compose the postcard in PostCard. What fun! I'm going to introduce this app to several friends whose computer skills are satisfied with the simplicity of iPhoto. They will have a ball. So the license is tied to one computer. At the $5 fee, if I use this software five times, I've gotten my money's worth. I don't begrudge the developer a fee for a new computer and have several high end programs which are tied to one computer (Bias Peak etc.). Considering the fun I'll have, this licensing technique is not an issue.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. I emailed the developer when i couldn't get PostCard to work with Entourage and he responded with a new version within hours. Then I replied with another cosmetic issue and he changed that within minutes. I paid the $5. I think it's pretty cool. Don't miss changing your postmark and your stamp. (Instructions are sparse on this.) I don't think it could practically cost much less, but I agree with the criticism of binding to one machine only.

"We're sorry, but we can't find the HomePage you've requested" message for a few days now. I tried the earlier version and I found it a lot of fun. So as far as this review goes, I think it is a great product and cheap at $5. The new version is supposed to fix the only problem I could find which was opening other email clients.
