"This program does not meet the minimum needs I had."
Version: PodLift 1.0.2.1
Pros
This program had no pros in my opinion.
Cons
Requires Itunes to operate.
Would not allow me to recover files from Ipod Nano without the purchases being transfered to a new library or logging in to my library (from prior to a recovery), meaning all songs not from Itunes would be lost...Summary
The only tracks I wanted weren't from ITunes library, but CDs I backed up prior to disposal. These tracks I couldn't recover through Itunes itself, and this program wouldn't because it wasn't in my ITunes library... Kinda defeats the purpose!!!!

"GizmoRip 3.0.0.1 WORKED MUCH BETTER!!!"
Version: PodLift 1.0.2.1
Pros
Was finally able to get it installed after much trouble, it could only back up music.
Cons
Required extra programs to install, or probs reading my older 30gb classic or newer 5th gen 16gb Nano ipod, or would freeze up with errors during transfer, while backing up or transferring all music, does not maintain any of your playlist order.
Summary
This Program either had problems installing on my XP Pro, or reading my older 30gb classic or newer 5th gen 16gb ipod, or would freeze up with errors during transfer, and my biggest gripe, is that most of these while backing up or transferring all music, could not maintain my important several playlists order of songs. GizmoRip 3.0.0.1 WORKED MUCH BETTER, program installed and loaded without problems and transferred all my playlists into itunes easily, a lil slower if U have alot of songs, but worth it and much better over this over hyped program.

"It got the job done!"
Version: PodLift 1.0.2.1
Pros
It was fast at transferring music from iPod to computer. A big plus is that it was free!
Cons
Not the most user friendly program, but it wasn't that difficult to use.
Had to install some .net stuff before program would work.Summary
It is a great program to use if you are only transferring music once. If I was going to be doing this a lot, I might look for a more user friendly option. But it was perfect for my purpose.

"A Hidden Gem! Like CopyTrans but FREE!!!"
Version: PodLift 1.0.2.1
Pros
Easy to use, simple interface, works fast, puts my music in nice and organized folders, uses barely any RAM,
Cons
Takes a little while to load, but not really a problem. Can't cancel a batch in mid-copy but you can just delete the files once its done.
Summary
I love this program! I can't believe I almost considered paying $19.99 for CopyTrans! If more people knew about this I'm sure they'd be out of business by now! If you want to copy music from your iPod or a friend's DOWNLOAD THIS NOW!!!

"Freakin awesome!!!"
Version: PodLift 1.0.2.1
Pros
Relatively fast ( transferred 1300 songs in less than 20 minutes). simple interface. Free!!!! Has aesthetically pleasing interface. Easy to use. Actually works! This is the first copier that I have downloaded ( out of 10 different ones) that works.
Cons
Had to download Microsoft.net framework 1.1 ?! ( using windows 7) even though automatic updates are up-to-date???? That's it so far.
Summary
Did exactly what I wanted: transferred my files on my ipod to my new computer's version of iTunes library, which freakin Apple should allow you to do with your $300 device in the first place!!!!! Next Mp3 player will be a Zune I think. DRM has its place, but when you can't easily manage your LEGAL library of music and vids between devices and computers easily in this day of technological advancement I do believe its time to leave the company with the lack of innovation. Yes I do realize why Apple has those safeguards in place: to protect their precious contracts with the record companies. But come on, anyone that is devoted enough to pirate content is going to find the way. Why make it frustratingly difficult for the average user to manage their own library?
