"Great product for embedded real-time instant messaging"
Version: Plugoo
Pros
Customers and friends do not need to download any Software on their PC's or Mobile devices to make this program work.
Cons
Found that it is best to turn on the Plugoo requirement settings for the user/visitor to enter a nickname. This is because if the user/visitor uses the default nickname (plugoo owners nickname) the user/visitor message will not be sent.
Summary
This product is great. Our customers can send us an IM if we are online or offline.
When offline, plugoo sends the user/visitor message to our email address that we configured in the Plugoo settings. It also works great with Mobile Instant Messenger on the cell phone. The only issue we found is that the Plugoo settings should be set to require that the user/visitor enter their own nickname. User/vistiors who are not computer geeks may not realize that they need to type in their own nickname for the message to be sent. Overall this product is easy to setup ,and easy enough for any computer novice out there to open a free plugoo account and start messaging on their own website or blog in less than 5 minutes. -
"Almost a great tool! If only it worked right."
Version: Plugoo
Pros
I'm a Realtor, so my web site and blogs are important parts of my marketing. I like that I have a way for potential customers to reach me from my on-line presences, but I'm also on the go a lot...
Cons
so Plugoo by itself wasn't the whole answer. I also needed to dig up a mobile client so I could be in touch while away from a computer. Also, I initiailly set up my Plugoo account with Yahoo! IM, but it Plugoo couldn't find my chat client, so I had to switch my client to Google Talk -- and they only let you switch your Plugoo setup once. Ever.
Also, their documentation is minimal and pretty rough.
I think it will be a great product a couple more versions down the road.
