Ping Range is standalone, so it can be kept on a USB drive, and is less than 1MB in size. No installation required. It can ping a single device, either by IP-Address or hostname, and returns the MAC address. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.

Version: Ping Range 1
"Ping Range does exactly what you need...and more!"
Pros: Simple, effective, efficient. Ping Range quickly searches the range of IPs assigned and returns active clients along with MAC, host name, and other useful information.
Cons: I haven't found any disadvantages to what this simple tool was meant to do.
