CNET Editors' review
While there are more expensive programs that let you do more with your digital images, Photo Crop Editor lowers the cost and focuses exclusively on cropping.
This is about as simple as a program can be when dealing with photo editing. The generous screen is dominated by the open space for your photos. At the top is a surprisingly short list of commands. Users are given opportunities to select a photo, quick crop, manually crop, select a background, save, and print. Below this are smaller icons dedicated to rotating the picture and zooming.
Most inexperienced photo croppers will want to use the Quick Crop option. After selecting a photo, users can roughly outline the item they want removed from the picture, and a dotted line instantly appears around the selection. From here users can take this image and let it stand alone or select a new background for it.
Photo Crop Editor is an incredibly simple way to perform the act of cropping out a picture and dropping it into another. It has no frills or extras, so if you're looking for all the bells and whistles that other image-editing tools offer, this isn't the program for you. For users who want a simple tool to perform a simple editing function, Photo Crop Editor fits the bill nicely.
Publisher's Description
From iFoxSoft:
Photo Crop Editor is an interactive photo crop software for selecting and cropping an object in a picture or photograph from its background. The result can then be placed on a different background to create a new picture. Photo crop editor works even if foreground and background colors are similar. Photo crop editor consisting of three steps: object marking: the object of interest can be quickly identified by marking quick mouse strokes, using left-click for foreground and right-click for background, then program lookups object boundary automatically; boundary editing: boundary can be edited directly in this refinement step; background change: crop the object and place it on a new background, the object can be resized, rotated and placed on any position of new background, and it is easy to change background as any photo or color. Then the result could be saved as new image file or printed out.
What's new in this version: Version 2.01 fixed bugs of Bayesian matting function for matting hair from background.

"surprisingly effective"
Version: Photo Crop Editor 2.0
Pros
Simple, intuitive and responsive interface (once you understand it), makes a difficult task tolerable, even easy. Some advanced features. Handles some tricky situations very well. Best of several tools I tried.
Cons
Not a swiss army knife, just does the one thing.
It helps to read the tutorial.
Detailed cleanup can get tedious, easier to do final cleanup in something else. Probably sluggish on an average or slow computer.Summary
This program will not do color balancing or resizing, and getting rid of every little artifact is easier in a different program. But it makes a tricky and exacting task much easier, and even handles alpha channel creation.

"This software is as good as the cost. o.oo"
Version: Photo Crop Editor 1.15
Pros
Nothing was worth the disc space I used to download.
Cons
This editing software just wasn't useful. I can do anything that this software features with paint or just Windows Live editing.

"decent at cutting, but no bit editor to clean up"
Version: Photo Crop Editor 1.15
Pros
free of charge
Cons
counterintuitive design, not a very good job at cropping.
-
"Great Idea - No Follow Through - Look for their latest"
Version: Photo Crop Editor 1.15
Pros
It would be awsome if there was a task specific program specializing in background removal. One could build their own suite of such ultimate programs. The intent was admirable.
Cons
Not even close. (as a specialty background removal program). Was not able to easily navigate to get to the basic/task of the program. Did it even exist? Limited options/interface
Summary
Wait for a later attempt from this group. The intent is there.

Pros
Was unable to download software because I have a Mac.
Cons
Was unable to download software because I have a Mac.

"Very useful additional piece of software."
Version: Photo Crop Editor 1.15
Pros
Very easy to define the object you want to cut out, very quick to find the edge.
Cons
Sometimes fails to find small sections of the edge, but easily rectified. Sometimes leaves small sections of the background showing, but these can be removed in other applications.
Summary
This is the best cut-out software I've come across, better than any much more comprehensive package. Does one thing, but does it very well!

"it's a nightmare lazy snapping implementation"
Version: Photo Crop Editor 1.15
Pros
No at all!!
Cons
poor graph cut algorithm implementation; running ants taking all cpu capacity; horrible user interface; completely wrong boundary editing
Summary
i feel ashamed for you that you dare sell such low quality software, you took the advantage that the authors of lazy snapping at microsoft never published their own version, so all you did was ruin their reputations
-

-
"Doesn't even come close to letting you cut out a specific object."
Version: Photo Crop Editor 1.15
Cons
It needs a simple way to click around a specific object and then be able to cut it out.
-
"why not use a free program to do the same thing?"
Version: Photo Crop Editor 1.15
Pros
It can crop picture in odd ways, like a star cut out.
Cons
There are cropping programs like ImageCrop and Paint.net that do everything this one does for free.
Summary
Why not make it free?
