"The best Application for the Best Nokia Phone"

      February 11, 2009   |   By Jean-Luc

      Version: PhoneManager 1.2

      Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I have been using this application with my 2 old 6310i and this the best ever and most reliable application. Not to mention the excellent support from the Author, which over the years has always addressed and fixed issues I have reported in a matter of days sometimes even hours !...
      GREAT SOFTWARE, GREAt SUPPORT.

I am also using Phone Director from the same Author for my sister's phone and got the Author this week to add support for the Excellent Nokia 3120 Classic (business phone S40 series)
It is now fully compliant and I recommend this phone and PhoneDirector for it

"Indispensable app if you own a Nokia"

      May 05, 2004   |   By MacWarrior

      Version: PhoneManager X 1.1.3

      Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've bought recently a Format.de Palladio USB cable for my Nokia 6310i and couldn't get it to work at my WinXP PC
The installation on the Apple PB G4 went smoothly: installed the driver, plugged in the cable and phone, installed PhoneManager
And it worked so great that I decided to buy it immediately.

Thank you and you're team for bringing phone-synching to the Macintosh platform.

PS I've bought recently a SE T630, so I'm gonna buy PhoneAgent too in a few weeks.

      "Good Solid Product"

      November 26, 2003   |   By mcg2003

      Version: PhoneManager X 1.1.2

      Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
RTFM- Read the (f) manual. People this is (about) the only decent 6310i app for Mac. I followed the instructions, it works flawlessly everytime.
Nokia do not support mac - so forget it. Since the 6310i was meant to have SyncML (as advertised), but doesn't - so no one else is going to go to the trouble of writing a contact transfer utility for mac. Do not whine, face it and deal with it.
If you want "free" transfer, cough up for a 3650, 7650 or 6600 and use iSync. But hey, you will have to pay for a new phone. Your choice.
I used this to tranfer my contact over from my 6310i to address book and then to a new 3650 - perfect. With this you can also archive your SMS.
Now I can keep my 6310i, 3650 & mac synced.
The app would be better if the GUI followed Apples guidleines or was even aquafied - hopefully this will come.

"This is great software - pay up or shut up !"

      Summary

I can't believe the whining here from some really ignorant people, if you want free software then write it or shut up !! It is absolutely clear what PM does and how much it costs. This is still the only Mac phone programme to access Nokia Extended phone books which can store 500 names each with four numbers, e-mail and address, that's 3000 entries!. Works perfectly with my Nokia 6210 and Keyspan 19QW Serial/USB adapter and a 6310i via Bluetooth. The developer is very responsive too. Nokia have abandoned Mac, we should be thanking people like MacMedia who fill the gap. Worth every cent, penny and yen !!

...some difficulties installing (which may be down to my configuration - latest OS levels and other Bluetooth devices all vying for attention) but truly excellent technical support got all these sorted out through prompt eMail responses - usually same day including out of hours.

      Summary

No support for modern phoes like 6100, no support for the regular connction (IrDA), no support for modern cables (USB), unflexible, ... And what it does, does it bad.
The same as all of the other Mac phone apps: Unusable.

Start up you Win PC or at least VPC and start one out of hundreds of working programs to fulfill your tasks with your phone easily!

      "irda not supported"

      October 11, 2003   |   By opitz

      Version: PhoneManager X 1.1.1

      Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
i do have one of the first tibooks that still has a built in irda port but no bluetooth.
since my nokia 6310i supports irda as well and phonemanager supports serial connections i was nearly shure that irda will be working as well...
it does not! i cannot see why, that's why i will give only one star.
this program seems to be useless to me until i upgrade my tibook (sometimes next year) or the author will support irda (sometimes this year? never??)
i will add several stars when having the chance to use it.
      m!

"Got the Nokia 6310i firmware updated to 5.50"

      September 17, 2003   |   By jrp59

      Summary

I got the Nokia 6310i firmware updated to 5.50 today. Cost $15.

PhoneManager works nicely. Instructions are clear. It is actually easier to bring Address Book information into Phone Manager and edit it there than in Address Book itself.

OnSync had created separate entries for each phone number. Without deleting those, PhoneManager put all the numbers under one name as they are in Address Book and left no duplicates.

OnSync couldn't handle a company name being primary. Phone Manager has no problem.

      "Too bad..."

      Version: PhoneManager X 1.1.1

      Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
... that this shows once again, that Mac users have to get used to getting flogged with software that is way overpriced ('scume?? 27 smackers?!). Software to be found for Windows either MUCH cheaper or even for FREE and even for most phones under the sun, not just a couple... Too bad. As long as you're not dependant on the goofy logo or ringtone editing feature (for which, again, there are massive FREE apps under Windows), go with SIM Express.
