Product ranking:#20 in XML Tools
At first glance seems handy to view well-formed XML docs.
IS BUGGY! Corrupted 2 days worth of work on an XML file I was generating. I save my changes regularly. But at the end of the day when I saved it added erroneous text and portions to the XML, and now my XML file cannot be trusted and must be re-done! I wasted 2 days of work because of this TERRIBLE SOFTWARE! WASTE OF TIME TO USE, BETTER OFF NOT USING IT AT ALL! USE TEXT PAD INSTEAD OF THIS!
This program is excellent if you are working with large complex XML files. The Tree view makes navigating complex files much easier. However the interface could be simpler, and there are bugs in the software, although none have as yet caused any major problems.
Multiple view methods of an XML file.
Doesn't support unicode. When loading a file containing unicode (eg. Chinese, Japanese, Arabic) characters, those characters will be replaced by question marks.
This can't be called an xml editor since all the other editors. (textpad, emacs, vi) has color coding. So this editor needs to have xml specific functions, and that work. Might as well stick with emacs.
First thing the program did the very first time I launched it was try to access the internet. Why would an XML editor need to do that? Hmmmm. Perhaps to check for update? Perhaps not. I for one don't like these programs that do what they want without confirming with the user what they plan to do.
It crashed when I tried to add an attribute. Tool tips would go a long way to make it more intutitive.
Very good editor, love the tree view nice touch. Very stable product. Cant belive its free.
Didn't really like it. The tree view needs to be redesigned a lot better so that it's more intuitive.
