CNET Editors' review
Make your PC a five-alarm computer with this program. Peter's Ultimate Alarm Clock (PUAC) lets you program an infinite number of alarms that can trigger specific actions. If you want Madonna to wake you up in the morning, or perhaps your mother's voice to tell you to take the garbage out, PUAC can do it. To add alarms, right-click a day in the program calendar. If you've a number of reoccurring alarms, it's easy to switch them on or off in the main program window. Aside from the more basic functions, however, PUAC is cluttered with icons and confusing buttons. We couldn't figure out why there are two calendars, and what exactly does scope unit mean, anyway? It's ultimately up to you whether to have the extra 10 MB of memory to dedicate to this digital nag, but if you're the forgetful type, it just might be the right alarm clock for you.Publisher's Description
From Peter's Productions:
PUAC is an alarm clock that sits in the system tray and lets you sound as many alarms as you like. Options include periodic alarms, snoozing, sound alarms that go off while the program is inactive, visual alarms, voice messages, and the ability to open files, programs, and URLs. Alarms come in groups that can be saved to disk. You can synchronize with Outlook tasks and appointments. Alarms can be set to sound at a specific time, and color-coding of alarms provides a clear overview. A plug-in system allows easy extension of the program by creating custom action, import, export, and synchronization plug-ins.

"Stupendous and comprehensive Alarm Clock. You know how much work went into this."
Version: Peter's Ultimate Alarm Clock 3.3
Pros
Everything's in Peter's Ultimate Alarm Clock. Every single configuration you can think of. Simply wonderful, especially if you're a student; the settings of an alarm call are sufficiently detailed. The first hour I used this alarm program, I thought Pete couldn't have thought of a better, more appropriate name for his ingenious program.
Cons
Cluttered interface, particularly the calendar view. That certainly needs work. But it just takes some getting use to. Don't know about you... I took 10 minutes :)

"Fantastic, a real life saver. I am more productive than ever."
Version: Peter's Ultimate Alarm Clock 3.3
Pros
I am using version 3.3. I have used or tested it on both XP Pro and 2003 Server. It is stable on both systems. This little gem is worth it's weight in gold. I exclusively use it with a female "natural voice" to announce periodic reminders, tasks or appointments. My wife loves it too, though she never uses it first hand. Now she has relinguished the role of nagging to the computer, and now she just smiles everytime that voice announces another "to-do" that I need accomplish. Now we focus on more important things, mainly eachother. She is normally not impressed with technology toys, but with PUAC taking over the job she had, she has now assumed the role of "best friend" and "flirt". I have been blown over by her increased interest in the bedroom, since using Peter's Ultimate Alarm Clock with a female natural voice. Maybe my wife feels the need to compete for attention, now that there is another woman in our home to nag her husband through-out the day of all the little things that need to be done. It even reminds us when our favorite TV shows are starting. We love it.
Cons
Some of the "Periodic" options, and "Advance" options are still a little confusing, but this is still new for me and I am still learning how to exploit these features more each day. Also, my 12 year old son resents being reminded to do his homework or to take out the trash by a talking computer, or that he has to go to Scouts today at 4 o'clock.

"Great if you want to screw up your operating system!"
Version: Peter's Ultimate Alarm Clock 3.3
Cons
If you decide that you don't want to be reminded with a small box every 15 - 20 minutes to register the product and decide instead to remove the program . . . good luck! It doesn't work. You'll continue to get windows upon windows piling up whenever you're not there to methodically erase each one.

"Impossible to use it !"
Version: Peter's Ultimate Alarm Clock 3.3
Cons
Impossible to launch the program (error) with Windows XP Professional.

"Excellent Attention Getter!"
Version: Peter's Ultimate Alarm Clock 3.3
Summary
I let time go by without notice and missed important programs on the net. This alarm clock does it all and really grabs my attention. It will even intrupt full windows games instead of hiding underneath until you close out of a game. The interupt is exactly what I needed. Great bells and whistles!

"Great little program"
Version: Peter's Ultimate Alarm Clock 3.3
Summary
Before I installed the new version, my only complaint was that it didn't support MP3s. Now that it does, however, it does everything I need it to. Great product.

"Incredible little program"
Version: Peter's Ultimate Alarm Clock 3.3
Summary
I've become dependent on this little program over the past 6 months or so. If you ask a lot from your programs, you'll like this one. I've used the free version so far, and recently became a tester for the beta version (downloaded 5/12/04 3.2.9999). The free version has the basics that you need and whatever I wanted to achieve, I was able to. If you're like me and have too much to remember all the time and are always absorbed, sitting at your computer, this is invaluable. With the newer version, you get the bells and whistles and the GUI is much slicker. Still haven't explored all the features of it, but looks good so far. I run xp pro and had no problem at all with installing.

"a fine alarm clock"
Version: Peter's Ultimate Alarm Clock 3.3
Summary
PUAC 3.22 has an unlimited number of alarms, is simple to use, and the cost is low.
8/14/09:
You will or may need to download "comdlg32.ocx" to place in the directory where the program is located to get it to function. That file is easy to find, and is the likely reason why someone might not be able to get the program up and running.
I recommend that you download version 3.22 now ( 5/5/04 ) before it is gone. The next version may or may not be as good.
Updated on Aug 14, 2009
PUAC is now at version 3.4 and is better still.
I like configuring it to the 'old view' in options.
