Used Personal Finances Free for Windows?
Editors’ Review
Personal Finances offers users a chance to get organized and answer the age-old question, "Where is all my money going?" With this fairly simple program, your financial past is dissected, however it may not live up to every user's expectations.
This free unlimited trial excels at breaking down a family's spending. After inputting members of the family and their incomes, users choose from a range of categories for their expenses. Everything from mortgage, insurance, gas, gifts and any other items are catalogued. Once listed, the easy-to-read display offers users a glimpse at what percentage of their income goes to specific expenses over a period of time. Personal Finances' flexibility is its strongest suit, since users can add and remove expenses and have their totals and percentages instantly changed. This is great way to track and project a family's spending.
While it is a great way to get organized, the program's interface is less than desirable. Everything is simple, but there are several redundant buttons that appear at the top and side, performing essentially the same functions, which is confusing. In addition, we found no simple way to run reports other than the basic screen. This means no charts or graphs were available. Overall, those seeking a simple way to get a quick glimpse at their financial basics should find Personal Finances useful, but those seeking in-depth reporting will want to look elsewhere.
