The Pazera Free MP4 to AVI Converter is a software application for converting your MP4 videos to AVI format.
This is a very basic and simple-looking video converter. The program is light on features, because it has one main purpose, which is converting videos to AVI format. The conversion process time varies from one job to another. You should expect it to take about twice as much time as the length of the video being converted if it's longer than a few minutes.
Even if you're not very familiar with computers, it should be pretty easy to start using this program, though you might not understand some of the default settings it has. Audio Codec, Bitrate and Sampling Frequency are among the settings options that will most likely be unfamiliar to a novice user. There are Advanced settings for those who know more about videos and computers, but a novice user can go without changing anything and still manage to get the program to work. The Help page can take you to the publisher's Web site, but you won't find any tutorial there. They do list the most important features, but that's it. If you're a novice user who wants to learn more about the program, you might not find enough information.
It was fast and easy to download and install Pazera. There were a few extra download offers, but it's not required to download anything except Pazera in order to have it work.

Pazera Free MP4 to AVI Converter is the freeware application which converts MP4, M4V and MP4V files to AVI or MPG (MPEG-1, MPEG-2). MP4 files are commonly used by video sites (YouTube), portable players (iPod, PSP), mobile phones (iPhone) and other devices. Unfortunately, many players and video editing software does not support the MP4 format. In this case, it is necessary to convert MP4 file to more popular format such as AVI or MPG.

Very easy to use, simply select the file and click convert. It isn't barebones though as you can change the output video and audio options like framerate, bitrate and compression among others.
Conversion window shows output progress rather than displaying a simple 'please wait', although there is a checkbox if that's what you like.Cons
Deceiving ads for additional software as mention in the other review, however you CAN skip them if you look closely. One ad for a toolbar has a text link to "Skip offer" hidden below the image preview; it is visible but looks like the rest of the text so it's easy to miss. The check-boxes are also unchecked by default.
The grayed-out 'Decline' button on the next offer is actually clickable.Summary
Conversion time is running at about 1:1 for me on a 1:35:00 length movie. I am running a 2.4Ghz quad-core with 4g of ram, pretty standard or lesser nowadays.
* Just finished converting a movie and the video stutters as if 1 frame has been removed and replaced with a copy of the previous, Very strange. I left the settings on AUTO so I will have to try again with my own settings.
I have not restarted my computer since installing it but so far I haven't found any rogue processes or software in my Program Files or Application Data folders. If I do I will change my review to 1 star and let you know where and how much.
If that is the case, the software works as advertised if you don't mind performing a little cleanup.

Updated on Apr 9, 2013I set the preset to DVD NTSC MPEG-2 720x480 and the video converted flawlessly in only 20 minutes! Except it's 5x the file size.. so just fiddle with a test file before converting any movie and it ought to be just the ticket. -

you'll learn much about trojanware and lessons in how a program is a 'set up' and not the real thing.
Cons
doesn't work and installs many other malware programs while it's installing it's base program.
also, do NOT use the UNINSTALL option, it doesn't uninstall it transfers data to their servers information that you have on your computer.
it also hijacks your browser and installs it's toolwares.Summary
it's a fraudulent program. i'd suggest you go for the 'any video converter' or something more brandname reliable.
this program is a front for 'pingware' and nothing more.
:( i'm soo sorry i downloaed it and tried to convert one file, it took 2 hours to convert a 765KB file and my computers resources were tapped and it installed several malware programs and was transferring information all the while.
i'm not sure what this company is trying to do.
please, do NOT DOWNLOAD and if you do and install do not use the UNINSTALL... just manually reconfigure and delete.
