  I will be more more cautious of CNET recommendations in the future. Now I know.

  Cons

  Just after installing this program, Google Chrome, Firefox, and IE all opened to a strange window with ads and a search box. My system slowed, and I couldn't uninstall Chrome in order to reinstall an untainted version. Yuck. Two hours later, everything seems to be okay, but I had to restore my OS to an earlier version.

  When I didn't see the "Buy It" button on the main page, I thought this was free. It's not. It has a 15-day trial. Probably worth the purchase price but I don't need the functionality often enough.

  Found it quick and simple to use, very clean and no fuss, the trail vers has no demo water marking as some of the others have.

  Pros

  Successfully merged 19 seperate PDF docs into a single PDF doc. Easy interface. No watermark. Free trial period.

  Cons

  After making one merged PDF doc, I was unable to successfully make another. The software would spit out a PDF with blank pages, not corresponding to the number of pages attempting to be merged. The website for the software has a very limited FAQ/troubleshooting, which does not include this problem. I tried multiple times to make another merged PDF to no avail, and tried closing and opening the program to no avail. Also, you must add the individual files one at a time to a list to be merged - it is much slower than if you could select them simultaneously or drag & drop.

  I liked that it was very fast at merging PDFs and had some good options

  Cons

  When picking the PDFs to merge, you could only select one at a time and then you would have to click OK, then click add again and select one more PDF. If merging a lot of PDFs this would take FOREVER!
