Create Virtual CD-ROM Dives on your computer to emulate CD/DVD from hard disk/network Virtual CD image. The Virtual Original CD Drive Emulator will help you rip your own CDs to a hard disk or to network images, and to create a virtual CD-ROM on your computer to access those images. It works like a real CD-ROM: You can run programs, play games, or listen to music from your virtual CD-ROM. The Virtual Original CD Drive Emulator is an ISO image extractor. It can directly access your ISO image, allowing you to see what is in the ISO image before you burn it. The Virtual Original CD Drive Emulator can burn CD image onto CDR/CDRW.
This program used to perform the fake cd function. It should not be used on Windows XP anymore until fixed.
Installing this program causes Windows Explorer to hang and fail to completely open. Bug also interferes with most file opening operations on Windows XP SP2. Works for maybe an 30 minues, maybe 5 hours, seldom more than a day. Then this bug forces the user to power cycle or reset the PC.
After fully uninstalling OCDE (with Control Panel//Add or Remove Programs), installing another cd emulator, first try was Daemon ToolsPro Demo, worked fine.
Nada zip zilch -why do I have to give it one star? A big zero! Not useful at all.
An hour of my time entirely wasted. Installed program, fought through poor documentation to create "virtual cd". Tried to access "drive" - 100% locked up my Windows XP - rebooted, same story. Rebooted, uninstalled, hopefully this poor software left no trace behind! Still looking!
This program does exactly what it should do! It is image drive software meaning that it takes a CD image (ISO file) and makes windows think that you just put the actual CD in your drive. It will even autorun the ISO! An excellent piece of software for those games that require you to have the CD in your drive to play. Just copy the ISO to your hard drive and you can keep the original CD safe and unscratched while still enjoying the game! It took a minute to figure out the controls but after that it is perfect! This program will even make images! Nero is unneeded!
"May have worked, but only off ISOs - if you have them"

Version: Original CD Emulator 2.15
I wanted to have a directory of mine served as if it was a CD, but no, I have to burn an ISO image of it first.
But the prog doesn't let me create my own ISOs - only images of existing CDs. No good for me - I don't want to mess around with a CD-burner - the whole point for me is that I'm running a laptop with no CD drive, let alone a burner.
