Optenet Web Filter PC, now Vista compatible, places an icon in the system tray to open your Internet browser and loads a neatly designed password-protected interface. You can create multiple profiles and select from the filter categories the types of Web sites to block, including but not limited to Gambling, Drugs, Games, Hackers, Porn. The application successfully blocked sites containing information within our filtered selections during testing. You can also restrict the use of P2P applications for file sharing, instant messengers, and e-mail and view a navigation log report.

Using the Contribution button, Optenet Web Filter lets you submit Web sites for possible inclusion on its restricted list. Parents and guardians can rest easy while kids surf the Web freely using this 14-day trial application.

Terrible service

Many features that you can adjust.
Cons
Some sites couldn't block even when you set this sites on you personal blocking list, especially https sites. On the other site some harmful sites are blocked, for example some shopping sites are in category "models". But the worst is the support, they not answer E-Mails when you have questions. The support is really bad!!
Summary
I'am not recommended this program. The K9 filter program has similar features and the quality of filtering is nearly the same. The difference is, that K9 are free and Optenet pc cost 39,95$. Of course, Optenet pc is more difficult to override, but the fee of 39,95 $ are non adequate to the support and quality. For 20$ it would be a good filter program, but not for nearly 40$.

Summary
You would be foolish to rely upon Optenet PC. When you initially select the domains that you wish to be protected from you will see that Google Chrome is listed by default as a browser that is barred. I was perplexed at the time and, as Chrome was my preferred browser, deselected it. There is a very good reason why Google Chrome is selected by default and that is that Optenet PC works infrequently with this browser. I discovered this by accident when I found that domains that I had selected were still accessible. Naturally I contacted Optenet and they acknowledged that there was a problem with the software working with Google Chrome. Their advice was to use a different browser!! The said that they were working on a 'fix'. Now 3 months down the line there is still no fix and Optenet PC cannot be relied upon as a firewall. I certainly would not have purchased the software had I known that it was ineffective with Google Chrome and there is no warning from Optenet that this is the case. To add insult to injury the only response I have received to my emails of late is the automated acknowledgement of my email. My advice is to steer clear of this product.

Using this program is very easy just click one button it can prevent the terrible websites from your children.

It make computer working slowly when playing internet because of its processing.

Webfilter help the parents who don't have time to look after their children all the time they play internet so much, because this program has already filtered the suitable website for your children. You don't have to worry that today your children will see the terrible websites including adult content, nudity, sex, peer2peer websites or not . Moreover ; this program also prevent your computer risk to get danger from site used for spamming and also avoid virus from some websites. In the other hand, This program also has disadvantage.It make computer working slowly when playing internet because of its processing. Some significance website are blocked like social network sites. Some children have to follow their work from their Facebook. Furthermore, Japanese nude website also be available. However Webfilter is very useful. Blocks virtually all inappropriate websites. I don't mean like FoxNews.com, but like real inappropriate websites...

Not fancy and sophisticated. Plain and simple...
Summary
If you have tried but failed visiting inappropriate websites, this program will solve your problem. One computer at a time.

Cons
Blocks good sites. Netflix movies - all movies - are blocked. Feedback to unblock is apparently never considered. Cannot even view "Bambi" so something's wrong. Forget ever using Netflix to view movies on an "Opteneted" computer again.

It works with no problems. Easy install, set it up and forget.
Cons
One of my kids complained that something he wanted to look at was blocked. But I was able to report it easily and give him access.
Summary
I am so relieved that porn and other bad websites are blocked from our computers.I tried 4 programs before finding Optenet PC. One I could not get installed. One crashed my computer and one was too complicated to set up.

Optenet will block intenet access until you purchase it. When you do purchase it and try to uninstall it it will say error when entering password and or email.
Summary
DO NOT USE OPTENET!!!!!!!!! The only way to get rid of it is system restore. I have contacted the company various times with no reply.

It installed fast and right away blocked porn sites. It was exactly what i needed.

My kids get annoyed. But that may be a pro.

Pros
Took me 2 minutes to install and I am not technical. After my kids saw pornography I was desperate to block those sites and not have to limit the kids using the Internet. So far so good with Optenet PC. Tech support answers email right away too.
Cons
So far so good.
