"I love it - really do"

    December 22, 2011  |   By DrStone7

    Version: OopsBackup 3.0.31

    Pros

Very happy with the tool, has done excellent job keeping all 3 of my systems backed up over LAN. Quick and through with a small foot print.

    Cons

Only issue I have found is the automatic backup can cause some games to crash if it is backing up the save directory as the game writes to it.

    Summary

Best I have used, and I have used several.

"Easy to use, nice interface, outstanding support"

    November 18, 2011  |   By FredVanBrand

    Version: OopsBackup 3.0.31

    Pros

Userinterface is easy and well designed.
Setting up you backup ist done very quick.
It works like time machine on a mac.
Latest backup version always available as simple filesystem.
No need to install any software in case of an emergency restore. Just copy from the backup device.
I had a specific question regarding AutoStart and got an outstanding friendly and - kind of lightspeed - quick response from the support team.

    Cons

Nothing really to complain if you use it for your Home PC or small business.

    Summary

I liked it right from the beginning and don't want to miss it in the future :) Great tool!

"In a class of its own"

    October 22, 2011  |   By vwamenel

    Version: OopsBackup 3.0.31

    Pros

The program does exactly what it's supposed to do: make backups of your data without you thinking about the backups. The interface is so well thought that you'll find yourself reading information you didn't even know would be useful to you. Oops came in handy a few times, including helping me recover torrent files status in uTorrent otherwise, I would have had to reload 300+ torrents. I've also recovered application data - configuration, emails, etc.
Truly perfect piece of software. Don't ever bother trying other "solutions". There's no way I'm setting up a personal laptop or desktop PC without this program. It's unobtrusive and efficient at doing the backups and it doesn't get in the way when I need to retrieve files; it actually helps. Moreover, the support is excellent.
The other reviews and ratings seem to tell my experience isn't unique.

    Cons

    None that I've experienced.

"Superb piece of software, coud'nt ask more."

    March 24, 2011  |   By marie-helene

    Version: OopsBackup 3.0.27

    Pros

Very efficient sofware, backup every version of every file. It permit to recover lost documents, pics or datas, even if destroyed or written over.
A must for everyone working with Microsoft office.
    Take very few ressource.

    Cons

My only point : At this price, licences should be more generous on update and upgrades (only one year, rather than unlimited as GoodSync and most competition).

    Summary

Working with Word, and loosing oftendocuments (Microsoft backup option are lousy and unreliable) I was loooking at Oops for a while. The trial offer just made me fall for it.
The software is very reliable, very intuitive, a cinch to install and set, and it accept special option for special file or folder very easily. All versions of all documents (if choosen) are kept, so if you distroy, rewrite ou scrap something, you always have to option to get back the clock and get the latest version, or an older one at your choice. I tried it a lot, and was very satisfied.
Furtherwore, it work smootly in the background, and take very few ressource.

    "EXCELLENT & RELIABLE BACK-UP SOFTWARE"

    January 30, 2011  |   By anthonydowden

    Version: OopsBackup 3.0.18

    Pros

Specify exactly what you want backed up.
Works in the background using very little system resources.
Support if you need it is speedy and efficient.
    Resaonably priced.

    Cons

None that I can think of.

    Summary

One of the main benefits of this programme for me is that I can easily specify exactly what I want backed up, how often I want it backed up and how long I want to keep backups for. It is all easily handled in a clear user interface. I am backing up to an external hard drive but the programme will back up to CDs and DVDs as well.

My previous backup programme was supposed to back up everything you could ever need. I couldn't believe it when my computer packed up and I found that the Programme Data folder was not being backed up. Some of the data I lost I will never be able to recover and I was bitterly disappointed with it. I would suggest that if you puirchase a drive with backup software included you make sure that it is definitely backing up all that you want it to, don't take their word for it.

With this software I can see what is being backed up easily. I love having full control over the backup.

I have contacted support a couple of times and they were so quick and helpful it was almost unbelievable. In fact the first time I contacted them I was only using a trial version of the programme and didn't expect too much in the way of support. When they got back to me almost straight away I decided there and then to purchase and did so a couple of days later.

I think that OopsBackup will turn out to be the purchase of the year for me.

"Do not open up the directory tree of the hard drive"

    December 15, 2010  |   By hotip

    Version: OopsBackup 3.0.12

    Pros

No comment. Simply abandon to use.

    Cons

It does not all opening up of the directory tree on a hard drive. That means you have to backup an entire drive and cannot specify which directory or directories you want to backup.

"Time machine for windows, easy to use, great support"

    August 10, 2010  |   By bjornfj

    Version: OopsBackup 2.2.22

    Pros

The best backup program I´ve seen

Altaro has the best support-team you can find

    Cons

No UNC network support in this release
Comes in 3.0, release in august 2010

    Summary

I like it because it is the only windows alternative available which works and feels like Time Machine
Friendly user interface, a bit Mac´ish I would say
I feel that my files and backups are secure
And the support they are giving is fast, friendly and competent
    Top rating

"Great backup with versioning and data deduplication"

    June 27, 2010  |   By furst

    Version: OopsBackup 2.2.19.1

    Pros

    "Time Machine for Windows"
Data deduplication (better than Time Machine)
    Responsive development team

    Cons

User interface is very attractive with all sorts of graphs and pie charts but not necessarily enlightening.

    Summary

Billed by the developers as "Time Machine for Windows", OopsBackup actually ups the ante with data deduplication (so only the changed portion of a file gets copied, saving big on disk space on the backup volume). Uses an interesting technology called 'reverse delta", such that the most recent backed up version is actually a complete version; previous versions are saved as smaller "deltas" which can be reconstructed by the program. Runs mostly unobstrusively in the background (does like to pester you if you haven't backed up lately).

Developers are EXTREMELY responsive and program is updated frequently.
