"Best CDP Backup program out there"
Version: OopsBackup 3.0.42
Pros
File Versioning is outstanding. Backup is in file native format so that you won't need the software to restore from. I have tried to brake this software and it will fix it. Meaning I deleted a file from the backup location (Viruses or accidently deleting this could happen) Other CDPs (Genie Timeline 2012 won't catch this and there support team don't even reconize this issue) I have compared both Genie Timeline and Oops and I prefer and trust Oops because of the always catching deleted files from backup. I have tested and retested numerous CDP Softwares and Oops is the best, trust me. Plus you will need Genie Timeline installed to restore files. I have tested the following software: Genie Timeline 2012, Acronis True Image Home 2012 (nonStop), Easeus Todo 5.0, Norton Ghost 15, Genie Backup Manager 9, Paragon, Macrium Reflect, and some others.
For file level backups Altaro Oops Backup is the best. I still use Acronis True Image for Image backups though.Cons
The restore interface is a bit annoying to use, but for searching for a file is great!
The only other thing is that trying to run a second version of the backup to a NAS location is super slow and won't work for me. (I have over 270GB of data to backup)Summary
This is the best overall file level backup utility. It is a little older but has been proven to work and no bugs like the other softwares that get released every year, and besides who wants to re-purchase software every year? You just want reliable software that just works and Oops backup is the one. Plus it does work on Windows 8 for future reference.
For a file level backup utility with CDP this just works and you can trust it. I am a software developer for an aerospace company and I trust this software for our companies data.
