Editors' reviewThis excellent darts-simulation game impresses on a number of fronts. On the Oche lets you compete in tournaments against computerized opponents, either in the pub on in the professional arena. You control the speed and the spin of the dart with your mouse, which takes a while to master but proves to be quite an addictive challenge. The detailed, cartoon-style graphics are top-notch, and we especiallly appreciate the close-up view of the board found in the lower-left corner. It's also a nice touch that the realistic sound effects are tailored to the environment in which you're playing. For example, in the pub you'll hear appropriate background noise, such as belches and chatter. Although the registered version offers several variations on darts, the demo will only let you play the game known as 501. The feature set isn't gigantic, but you can choose between two characters, set the mouse sensitivity, and adjust the audio volume. All things considered, dart lovers likely will get a kick out of On the Oche.
