"Works on both 2.5\" and 3.5\" enclosures!"

    November 01, 2003   |   By unicron

Version: OWC Mercury Elite FireWire 800 Firmware 1.0

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Upgraded one 2.5" and one 3.5" enclosure successfully. Firmware is now v3.7. I removed the hard drive from the 2.5" enclosure as a precautio, and flashed it first. Then I felt bold, and left the 180GB hard drive in the 3.5" enclosure (but unmounted it from Disk Utility) and flashed it live. The hard drive didn't power down as usual after the PowerBook shut down. But a forced reboot seemed to have cured it. YMMV.

    "update for 911?"

    November 01, 2003   |   By toy2008

Version: OWC Mercury Elite FireWire 800 Firmware 1.0

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I have two oxford 911 firewire harddrives and encountered some problems under 10.3 just recently (folders disappeared, contents of folders are gone), so I tried to update the firmware with this application here. but after selecting the update-file, the process quits with the error message "fast buffer uplad failed". after that, the harddrive doesn't even appear on my desktop anymore... great...

"Works for older Firewire Oxford (900, 911, and 922)..."

    ...chipsets too!

Eveyone should get this update if you are using firewire cases with an Oxford chipset 900, 911, or 922. It contains updates for all of them. Excellent.

    "Oxford Support"

    November 01, 2003   |   By Phoenix DownUnder

Version: OWC Mercury Elite FireWire 800 Firmware 1.0

    Summary

A plus for Oxford support. My next drive will be Oxford based as well.
My current drive, that also died on 10.3 but luckily was partially repaired under 10.2.8-2, is a CD-506-COMBO and is an Oxford 911 based Genesys Logic
system. Can you help here too? Firmware 0.01 !!!
Keep it coming Oxford - now, is Oxford on the stock exchange?
