This simple tool effectively locates deleted files, but you can only restore them after purchase. Kernel Nucleus Undelete's Windows Explorer-style interface displays recovered folders and their contents in a clear-cut tree-style list. The scan is easily initiated, but the process takes some time as it searches the entire drive. Kernel Nucleus Undelete recovers files and folders, with options to preview, delete, or restore, although the demo disables the restore function. A time-saving feature lets you create a snapshot of the results and save it for future scans. One disadvantage of this program is it can't recover files in hard drives from a crashed system. Despite the lengthy scan time, the program didn't use too many of our computer's resources or impact other running programs. Kernel Nucleus Undelete is simple to use, but you can easily find a number of file-recovery tools that will restore deleted files at no cost.Publisher's description

"
Shady Company - Wouldn't Buy"Pros: The trial version worked great, until you actually want to recover something.
Cons: I downloaded the trial version of the software to recover some corrupt files. It appeared to find them so I bought the full version to recover the files. Not only did they double charge me for the software, but the password they sent me for access rights did not even work.
Ever time I emailed them about the double charge, they would tell me that it would be taken care of shortly. It was never taken care of, and now it's too late for my CC company to recover the loss.

"$30? I'd pay more than that."
Pros: I accidentally deleted a large folder from my data drive; it was too large for the recycle bin. I came to CNET to search the reviews and found Fix It Utilties 6.0 highly rated. It stated it could undelete files, but after 3 separate attempts, each time ending with a crash, no luck. So, I had to go searching for another product to do the job. I found this product, checked to make sure it was not associated with any spyware and downloaded the trial version. The trial version found my missing folder and all associated subfolders and files. I subsequently purchased and downloaded the full version. I was able to completely restore the folder and all associated subfolders and files - even after a defrag on the drive was run.
Cons: For $30, can't really think of one.
