This application creates and saves text documents, although many basic features do not work. It has a simple Windows Notepad-style interface with user-friendly drop-down menus, but no help file. Notepad NextGen claims to support encoding formats such as Unix and Unicode, but tests show it cannot. The View menu seems to malfunction, as it does nothing, and the program uses Word Wrap whether it's enabled or not. All saved documents are printable, though this application doesn't prompt the user to save the current file when closing it or when opening a new file. For Windows users, the installed Notepad application works the same, if not better than Notepad NextGen. Novice users will find this software useful in creating text documents, but advanced users will prefer a different program due to this one's limitations.Publisher's description
