• Security problem with Windows 2008

  Can't really say as it didn't do what I wanted.

  Cons

  Doesn't run with Windows 2008 without using the same user names and passwords that are in the AD. Tried to get tech support, and no one returned my email.

  Summary

  Maybe it would be OK on another OS, but I needed it to work on Windows 2008 server and it didn't.

• The Best and Easiest Software Ever!

  Pros

  This is hands down the best and easiest piece of "complex" software that I have ever encountered--and I have tried my share of software. <p> <p>They take a complex technology and put a highly usable interface on it coupled with a very informative manual and viola an instant FTP server. <p> <p>I wish someone would do this for VPN and Terminal Service technology. <p> <p>Bravo!

  Could explain the implications of Active and Passive a bit better, especially in using it with IE. <p> <p>Other than that, none.

• It is just the easiest software when you want to make your own FTP server.

  Because is the easiest of all programs that I have tried, one install it, you launch the program and directly it asks you if you want to create your own ftp server (your computer). It asks you what port you want to use, it gives you the IP, etc. Specially for "amateurs" in this kind of FTP things. In short words, it is good enough. I do not know if there is something better. I tried something before, cute ftp and bullet proof, but it was like 5 years ago and I forgot how to use them, and I am not going to download them anyway, cuz I got this one instead. Thanks for those who made it!

  It covers all demands from novice user (since it is very easy) up to the demanding user. It comes with IP authentication, virtual folder mapping, bandwidth restriction, idle timout, login time restriction, upload/download credit ratio ....anyway the list is endless. I think it is the best ftp server around. However it has some cons like : no renaming of user accounts, and virtual directories can only be mapped to home, or to a subdirectory of home.
