This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Apple provided us a new way to reach a lot of users, and for people like me that have experience with web applications NimbleKit is absolutely perfect! The learning curve is very small because I can apply my knowledge on web apps to create professional apps on the iPhone. This is important because I can make great ideas come live faster than if I had to learn my ways on Obj-C and even on this it help us, because it provides the ability to mix obj-c and javascript. I was able to port one web app to the iphone in 2 days and enjoy the native functions like sqlite support, maps api that wasn't available to me before NimbleKit. There a lot of applications out there relying on rss, templates, dashcode, these guys gave us a powerful tool to create applications with native elements without the pain to "emulate" them with css or some "magical" workarounds. Also performance is great. I have 3 apps on the app store approved and 3 more on the way. And $99 is not expensive, first because is one time fee only, also the support is great and that's whats make the difference, great tool with great support that you can rely on.

The actual developer monitors the boards closely, providing advice and even source code when appropriate. I've personally had bugs fixed and new features added upon request in as little as a few hours (longest time to bug fix I've seen is about 2 weeks). Without a doubt, this is the iPhone toolkit to get!

In fact, almost any "business-style" application can be done in html and javascript with the help of a tool like NimbleKit. Let me put it clear though: NimbleKit is not just a web browser in a full-screen frame. It's a rich platform that allows you to use very important native features like Navigation Controller, Tab Bar Controller, native UIs, use HTML5 Data Storage, etc, etc. Even if you know ObjC and Cocoa well enough you might still want to use NimbleKit to deliver quickly. My company is going to release three NimbleKit-based applications into AppStore soon. Drawbacks: 1. Pricey; 2. No sources available despite competitors like QuickConnectiPhone and Phonegap are open source and free.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Before NimbleKit I've tried PhoneGap, but I did not find it useful as it has very few features and due to architecture they simply can't implement rest of them. >>You don't need to know Objective-C or to be an experienced programmer I do know Objective-C, but NimbleKit saves lots of time and that's why preferable, however it would be even better if it is possible to mix Objective-C and Javascript/HTML.

I made a request for SQLite support, saving application settings and other small features, now it's been announced to be in version 1.2 next week.
