"OK, but they should provide more for the money."
Version: NetInfo 7.5 build 522
Pros
15 different tools in one one program. Seems stable.
Cons
The tools can be found in other programs that do not cost anything. They do incorporate the tools in one place, but they are somewhat limited. For inexperienced users the tools are not self-explanatory.
Summary
The programs provided do not add enough functionality to buy the program for a second year. There are other programs that have 5 times the functionality for barely more in price. I will use it because I paid for it, but I will not renew it for another year. They try to sell it bundled with Netgong but that program is even worse.

"GUI for quick acces to 15 network commands"
Version: NetInfo 7.3 build 1107
Pros
*interface is intuitive and easy to use
*instead of having to use a DOS box the network commands are available through one interfaceCons
License is only available for one year (valid for updates)

"The company is very difficult to work;they are foreign."
Version: NetInfo 7.1 build 516
Pros
Nothing really. The programme gives you nothing you can't find out yourself.
Cons
Not User-Friendly at all. Advertising has in creased over the years and it is a PIA for a paid version. Programme is computer-specific only! The company itself cannot keep track of which computer in your network is licensed!
Summary
Read above. One more thing though, AFTER they had my money, we went back & forth in useless emails b/c the (experts in security) couldn't realize the name of my computer was spelled a certain way!

"NetInfo, Simplifying the Life of a User"
Version: NetInfo 6.6 build 818
Pros
Very intuitive interface; abilities are lain out in tabs at the top.
Works very well with 64-bit versions of Vista.
Information gained within the tabs can be copied and pasted into other apps such as wordpad/notepad.Cons
Requires a username/computer name license key that is quickly emailed to the user.
Scrolled information within the different tabs and no way to clear out said information for another try.
Lacks Winsock controls as buttons.Summary
If you're looking for a GUI-based software that offers many of the tools that come within your computer, look no further, "NetInfo" does a wonderful job of helping to troubleshoot many different issues. Have been mainly using this tool to troubleshoot connectivity troubles with a few MMORPG's that I play; getting anti-viral softwares, software firewalls and hardware firewalls and their respective ports opened up to allow cleaner play. Thus far, I've been able to identify a few "extras" within a few different games as to what needs to be opened up (firewall-wise) and what no longer is necessary in that same area.
Again, the user interface is very simple and intuitive, you've a field at the top, underneath the tabs in which you enter in either a hostname (alias) or an IP address and then you can either left-mouse click on the button to the right of the field or you can use the <Enter> key on your keyboard. Information is scrolled between uses, which is a minor complaint on my part and would have liked the ability to clear out the Response field as a button on the interface. Said Response field (it is empty between the different function tabs unless they've been used in that session) can become cluttered fairly quickly, especially if you're using "Trace," "Lookup," or "WhoIs" tabs. The clear function is available through the {File} drop-down menu.
Really like the simple interface of the Options menus, too. Did a beautiful job of listing things out so that a person with a modicum of networking knowledge can tweak their settings without being overly disruptive.
Graphics-wise some folks might ding this software down a notch or two, but I do have to admit that I prefer something simplistic as far as these types of tools go. The exception to this is some form of a visual route or something similiar would be nice as I do like to be able to glance at where an address might be physically located without having to go through the [WhoIs] tab and then onto a different site/piece of software to find a where.
I'd have really liked to have the Winsock commands available with the interface, vs. the necessity of using <Ctrl>+<Shift>+<Enter> on the cmd.exe in the case of Vista and then have the standard abilities of the netsh winsock _____ ("audit trail," "dump," "remove," "reset," and "show catalog") within NetInfo and thus a bit more control over the computer in question, preferably with a "| more" at the end to prevent loss of information.
As far as the License Key goes, I'd have preferred going through their website, vs. being sent the information in an email; just a personal preference thing stemming from bad experiences with software dongles.
Again, my complaints are being a bit nit-picky and I'd have otherwise given 5 stars to this product where it not for a lack of winsock controls over the local machine, and the username on the local box based license key. Overall, I am rather enjoying the software, the intuitive and minimalistic way things are lain out makes the software a pleasure to use. The pricetag wasn't terrible, either. I'd recommend this software for the home user who wants to get the most out of their home network. -
