Save a princess from the sentient dungeon Wally in this unique action-adventure game.

In Narbacular Drop you explore a 3D dungeon and overcome obstacles using unique portal gameplay. Its non-violent, low-intensity, simple gameplay appeals to gamers of all ages and skill levels.

The player controls the Princess character who has been captured by the a demon. The demon has trapped her in his dungeon lair, known as Wally. Wally is a sentient dungeon and has the ability to open portal holes on his walls. These portals connect to each other and any object moving into one portal will come out the other. Wally is resentful of his owner demon owner, so he joins with the Princess to help her escape. In exchange, she agrees to free Wally by directing his portal power to vanquish the demon.

The portal interface is very simple. The left mouse button fires the a blue portal, which appears on the wall, ceiling, or floor in front of the player. The right mouse button fires a red portal. Only one of each portal can be open at a time. This allows for a fast learning curve and low-intensity gameplay.

Summary
I wasn't expecting much; all I really wanted to see was how Portal began. In the end even though it was short it was surprisingly very fun, and it's cool to see how a little college project like this became such an amazing game.

Pros
Graphics of such low quality that you achieve a framerate of several hundred fps.
Cons
The audio is slightly lacking but that didn't affect my rating too much.
Summary
As a precursor to the ever popular Portal series this is an amazing game. Although the graphics are of a low quality they are what you would expect for a college project for its time. The story line is decent and there are not many bugs. As a Portal player the beginning the game took some getting used to with the differences in the portals and different engine being used. The game is full of surprises, I surprised I died so many times. Overall I give the game a 4 out of 5. Considering the available resources at the time of it's creation, I think it is excellent.
