The gray on black custom theme for Firefox may suit fans of dark themes, but we found it difficult to navigate. As with most Firefox themes, NASA Night Launch is easy to install. You merely drag the .JAR file onto Firefox's theme dialog and restart your browser. Choose the theme and you're literally in the dark. This theme turns all toolbars and the status bar black with medium gray to dark gray lettering.
Standard icons get a gray fade effect, but many third-party icons stay in their default colors. That can be jarring on this black-as-night theme. Hovering over a function or link brightens it considerably, but finding the proper link in the black and gray often proves eye-straining. This theme offers no additional functionality over standard Firefox buttons and functions.
As coal-black themes go, NASA Night Launch is clean and precise. However, our testes found it simply too dark for normal everyday use.
