Fortunately, today's technologies make it possible to work and learn using materials in any language and not spend hours digging through heavy paper dictionaries. Some of these solutions are completely web-based, some reside on users' computers and some combine the best of the two worlds to translate texts in various language pairs. MultiTranse PRO is a powerful translation tool that combines the convenience of a client-end part with the power of a remote translation engine currently supporting 48 world languages, including quite exotic and rare ones. The software is intended for translating relatively small texts of up to 6000 characters in size, thus making it a perfect tool for translating forum posts, business correspondence, small text excerpts, IM messages and other compact text fragments. The interface of MultiTranse PRO is remarkably simple and intuitive: the main program window consists of two text areas (source and destination) and language selectors in the form of national flags located above them. Language bars can be customized in program settings, so if you only use a couple of languages, you can easily disable the ones you don't need. You can also select a language pair using convenient drop-down menus to save time. The program uses Unicode encoding for texts, but can load and save texts in any ANSI encoding. Windows Vista and Windows 7 users don't need any add-ons to use MultiTranse PRO on their PC's, while users of older versions of this OS may need to install Unicode fonts to ensure the correct rendering of Chinese, Korean and Japanese hieroglyphics, as well as some characters in other languages.
