Publisher's Description
From John George:
Mp3 Tag Tools v1.2 is an intutive ID3v1.1 and ID3v2.x mp3 tag editing utility, with several features such as Mass Tagging, Write Tags from Filenames and Rename Files From Tags using Custom Formats, Cleaning Filenames and Correcting their case, Get Tag info using Directory Formats, Create Directories and organize mp3s from tag info, Copy & Synchronize id3v1.1 & v2.x tags, Lyrics and Picture Tagging, accurately read all MPEG info and append bitrate and mode to filenames.
All these tag operations can be carried out with or without directory recursion. Mp3 Tag Tools uses a special "readTags" function so that the program reads & displays the full contents of your mp3 tags unlike other taggers. Use this prog as a reference to see the junk characters that actually may reside in your tags created by bad tag editing programs, which don't usually get displayed. Thus you can create absolutely clean ID3 tags, as though they were created for the first time.

"Great piece of software!"
Version: Mp3 Tag Tools 1.2 Build 009 Beta
Pros
Does everything I need, but I'm not a power MP3'er.
Cons
None at all.
Summary
I gave it 4 stars only because as I stated, I'm not a power MP3'er, so I didn't want to over-rate it for someone with more demanding needs than mine. For me personally, I'd give all 5 stars.

Pros
Umm... cannot think off any; program is without any redeeming factors. wait got one...took me 2 minutes to figure out that i hate it.
Cons
Learning curve more akin to attempting to freebase climb to empire state buliding in 100 mph winds.
Summary
This program is for the die hard programers out there who like to use what they make i am niether.

"A Teeny Bit Kludgy but it did the Job! And for Free!"
Version: Mp3 Tag Tools 1.2 Build 009 Beta
Pros
I had 1189 MP3 files of which I needed to change the tags and images. The pictures took some time, even with my quad core but they got done. The text took about 2 minutes. I am sooooooo thankful!!!
Cons
The progression counter stops after about 100 files or so, but I could see that the output directory was filling up nicely. Also I haven't figured out how to do pictures and tags at the same time, but I'm pretty sure it is probably a simple fix.
Summary
I think most of the Kludgy problem was because I didn't know enough at first about what I was doing. The learning curve for me was about 15-20 minutes. Make backups of your files before you start messing around just incase you have a couple of blooper sessions starting out!
But once I got the hang of the program, it all became second nature. There is a help library and they explain the various options. You have got to read folks! Must take your brain out of neutral and work a little. Once you understand how this program does things, just like everything else, it is easy. The problem I saw in most reviews was that the program doesn't go out of its way to just drop things into your lap and that criticism is valid. However the rest of the story is that once you get the hang of it, everything comes together quite nicely. Most importantly, everything worked! Out of everything I tried, nothing was left hanging.
Dear God please bless people like this who are nice enough do such good work!!! And for free! -
