"fun game. worth it if you are comfortable with renting"

October 07, 2009  |  By hmazuji

 |  Version: Mount & Blade 1.011

Pros

fun play, nice graphics, interesting construction and game play

Cons

i don't believe them when they say they'll publish a version that doesn't require a key if they go out of business.

Summary

although unrealistic, it's fun to play. i would have purchased a key but ... as it stands, i don't trust the wording of the promise and i find it inadequate. it needs to read "taleworlds entertainment will make the game public domain and keyless at the end of it's life cycle or if and when taleworlds goes out of business or is sold". "we will try ..." just doesn't cut it. we? try?

"One of my favorites"

April 12, 2009  |  By Krusader

 |  Version: Mount & Blade 1.011

Pros

playability is awsome, can play forever
graphics are pretty good
its both an rpg and an rts
cheats can be disabled to prevent temptation
autosave is optional when starting a new game
helpfull and rescorcefull forums

Cons

can be very addictive
I havent seen it in stores yet even though it cameout a while ago

Summary

most realistic mideval combat I've seen-no magic, orcs elves or anything of the sort unless you install a mod that adds them.
You can raise an army and become a feared warlord, take an oath to serve a king, or become a simple merchant, and you're not stuck with your decision, it's completly openended.

"No scenario is the same, all choices make a difference."

January 05, 2009  |  By Armoura1

 |  Version: Mount & Blade 1.011

Pros

The variety of choices and consequences make this game a worthy addition to all RTS/RPG collections. Go solo or raise an impresive army. Be an honourable advisary or a feared war lord.

Cons

The only thing that is really annoying with this game is that you cannot become the Queen or King of your chosen faction. your highest possible position is war marshall.

"Great game worth a try!"

January 03, 2009  |  By kostaskaz

 |  Version: Mount & Blade 1.011

Pros

Awesome combat, much better than in any other medieval game.
Good and simple character system, very easy to adapt.
Big map, many towns and villages, many factions and armies to join or defeat.
Great tournaments and arena battles.

Cons

Outdated graphics.
No voice overs.
Poor enemy sound on battle.
Low FPS in cities(compared to battles).
Inventory system.
Arenas can getter repetitive.
Can't disable auto-save,may feel like an MMO.

Summary

Despite the graphics, and the lack of voice-overs this game is a must try for anyone who likes the medieval times.Perfect for anyone who wants to be a knight but have to battle no orcs, elves, dwarves. The battle is very exciting and is to keep you interested for many hours. The game may become repetitive after extender hours of gameplay but modes are there to keep your interest.Even if you don't try modifications this game is worth its $.This game is worth your bandwidth and your time, download it.
The average score for this game would be 4/5 but overall would be 5/5.
This game may be described as knight simulator if you don't like swords knights castles and battles why are you gaming?

These couldn't fit in the list of pros:

Very good on horse animations.
Unique horse archery.
The ability to be a noble knight or a filthy bandit.
Interesting Artworks.
Prisoner system.
Good quest log.
Music.

"Heard great things and it lives up to the hype!!"

December 16, 2008  |  By AngryBaby

 |  Version: Mount & Blade 1.011

Pros

Great battle mechanics and awesome sand-box format

Cons

Graphics aren't state-of-the-art. No game manual with my download; had to search forums and websites for fan-made docs.

Summary

Graphics are fine and the playability is awesome. Best of all you can try it for free!! What's to lose? Download the game already!!

Pros

Superb game, a must play for any one who likes this kind of game. Even if you do get sort of board of repeating your self in the awesome battles you can download new mods for endless fun.

Cons

None that I found

Summary

Awesome 5/5 game. What more can I say.

"Endless replayablity and Great Graphics = A must play!"

November 19, 2008  |  By WeirDave

 |  Version: Mount & Blade 1.011

Pros

Low cost, plenty of mods with supporting community, start and stop at will great for casual adult gamers, pause as well for life's "emergencies".

Cons

Once you try some of the mods you may not go back to "Native" again. Some mods require a total restart

Summary

No matter what style of play you are looking for there is something for you in this game. From a trader, to a mercenary, to a nobleman it's all here. Command troops like a fat general or get into the action yourself. Control towns, cities and castles. Follow a king, break all the rules or become the king yourself!
