CNET Editors' review
Most PC users have probably heard that the Recycle Bin doesn't really delete files, at least not right away, and even long-deleted files can be recovered from your hard disk, if you rely on Windows to follow through when you tell it to delete something. "Delete" should mean "outta here," not "Level 1 Wipe" or whatever. But drag and drop files into Moo0 FileShredder, and it will zap them using one of four algorithms until they are completely unrecoverable.
FileShredder's "Drop Box" interface is a small dialog that we could drag around the desktop as well as resize by grabbing and dragging its corners. Its View menu offers various check box options like Keep on Top and Easy Drag, and we could select from a huge list of languages as well as translate more from the Language menu. Other than that, there's just the Drop Box and the Method selector. The software's Web page offered plenty of assistance, but FileShredder explains itself very clearly indeed in the Method list's four levels: Shred Once (Normally Unrecoverable); Extra Carefully (Even More Secure); Into Ashes (Extremely Secure); and Vaporize (Vanish It!). The software also offers a Detailed Description interface with more data on each algorithm.
How does it work? Just great, even with folders too large for the Recycle Bin to swallow. Should you care if your deleted files are recoverable? Well, do you care if people sift through your trash for bank statements and other highly personal stuff? It's just plain common sense. If you think you might need something later or don't care how long it hangs around, throw it in the Recycle Bin; that's why it's called the "Recycle Bin," not "The Incinerator." If you want it gone from your system, set FileShredder to max level and take out the trash.

"free and easy to use"
Version: Moo0 FileShredder 1.15
Pros
free and easy to use
Cons
it asks to install spamware called AutoComplete. The drag & drop box could look nicer but it's intuitive enough
Summary
free for windows 7. All I need for 5 stars lol

"Amazingly simple,thorough&efficient Well worth it"
Version: Moo0 FileShredder 1.15
Pros
I especially liked the drag & drop function for the apps to be deleted , as well as the choices for the degree of deletion(I really like the phrase"vanish it"). This is well worth it as a stand alone file deletion app- simple & efficient.
Cons
I can't think of many cons. Suggestions: Update the GI and add a scanning fxn to detect any remnant files left behind.
Summary
As stated above, this app does what it's developers says it does-simply & efficiently. The drag & drop fxn is VERY useful. For a free app- well worth it. Having a scanning fxn to detect remnant file traces that might be left behind, would definitely be a plus.

"It's almost excellent"
Version: Moo0 FileShredder 1.09
Pros
I use Fileshredder to delete files that I don't want seen or left in my computer but I have discovered that some files simply will not delete even in fileshredder.
Cons
Certain files, particularly ones that got past my email scanner and virus controls are in my computer and even though they have been quarantined, I cannot get them to go away by dropping them in the shredder.

"Not bad, but good be much better."
Version: Moo0 FileShredder 1.09
Pros
It surely does a thorough job of erasing files. It allows various degrees of deletion up to "vaporize it"-Guttmann protocol 35 passes. The drag&drop fxn is what I find most convenient.
Cons
I would like to see it allow for multiple files or even whole folders to be added. For some reason it will not allow the drag& drop fxn to be performed from the recycle bin.
