Megabrowser is a free standalone program that enables you to host websites and FTP sites by utilizing its powerful advanced peer-to-peer features. You can now host websites and FTP sites without paying any hosting fees. Simply store your sites in the directories of your choice on your laptop or personal computer. Select MegaBrowser domain names for your sites on the MegaBrowser.com website. In each site's preferences tell MegaBrowser which chosen directories contain the site and which domain names you selected so MegaBrowser can open only those sites in the chosen directories to Internet surfers. Make sure your computer is connected to any Internet connection regardless of speed or ISP (works with all modems, DSL, cable ISP's including AOL, NetZero, CompuServe, MSN, etc.). All Internet surfers can view your websites as long as your computer is online. Surfers can also download and upload (at your option) files to your FTP sites. MegaBrowser's SmartIP? technology tracks your computer's IP address anytime it is logged on to the Internet so your sites and files are accessible.
MegaBrowser runs in the background when you are using other programs and is always easily accessible from the system tray. MegaBrowser also includes a version of Internet Explorer with enhanced browsing features including tab windows so you can open multiple websites and tab between them. Tabsets can be saved by name so that you can recall them at any time. Use the Fetch feature to build a tree of any website and click on the tree branches for faster navigation. Use the fast search bar to search the Internet for websites, ftp sites, mp3 files, pictures, and more. Select from the Personalities menu and change Megabrowser's entire appearance so it pertains to specific topics you are interested in. With one click it can become a dedicated kids browser or sports browser, or a dedicated industry specific browser, or a browser dedicated to one city or location.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS SOFTWARE... To bad, I really wanted to try out this program, but the minut it hit my desktop my anti-virus program opened up a window informing me of a virus/trojan in the program, I wint to the mega-browser web site and tryed downloading it again ( after deleting my first download, I still got the same warning from my anti-virus. This is what it read ( win32:trojan gen - C:\\win\temp internet files\ content IE. DL it if you want, but I wouldnt if I were you? Laterz.

The program works great, but once you uninstall it, not only does it refuse to properly uninstall, it changes all of the file associations, and has corrupted my copy of IE 6.0... No clue what happened... BEWARE!!!

Like the browser's tabsets and fetch are really good but really downloaded it for hosting and it works. Neat idea to be able to host on my pc. I read the either use your ip address or pay $10 a year for their domain name thing before I downloaded it. Wasn't a big deal to me since that is the only cost. $10 to get rid of those stinkin banner ads is worth it. Actually got a support person on their website live help who said this is just beta and new version is going to have much more. In my opinion definitely worth trying and keeping an eye on.

I downloaded the software and looks ok/good for beta version.
If you ask me, $10 to buy a domain name (need it anyway, don't I) and FREE hosting on my local pc is awesome. I control the website content....no forced banners, or other junk/restrictions that I have seen so far and no monthly payments! I wonder if the negative comments are from hosting companies?
Hey, the Browser Tabs are great, can even save tab sets! Give me more...this is very promising. -
