Despite its name, this faulty RSS feed reader doesn't offer any special features geared toward medical professionals. MedReader Business Edition's interface is simple to follow, with a folder tree to organize your feeds and a pane to view and search sites for feeds. The help file is available only online, and it isn't specific to the Business Edition, but to all of the feed readers the publisher offers. Those who haven't used feed readers before won't like the sparse information it provides.
The lack of user guidance isn't the primary flaw with this freeware. In our testing, the program failed in every attempt to add feeds. It wasn't able to recognize feeds when we used the built-in site search tool and when we tried to manually add feeds, an error message appeared each time telling us the feed's format wasn't supported. MedReader Business Edition isn't preloaded with a list of health-care news sites, and doesn't offer any other features or functionality for the health-care worker or anyone else.
There aren't any benefits for the administrator or other health-care manager in using MedReader Business Edition, and there are too many other effective (and free) feed readers to make it a viable choice for the health-care professional.
