This free toolbar takes a unique approach to browsing the Web, but a Help menu was sorely missed.
Marx GeoSearch Browser doesn't look like much, with very basic navigational buttons and a tabbed viewed panel. Don't be fooled by its austere appearance, though, because this browser packs a powerful punch. But without a Help menu, novice users might have a difficult time figuring out the relevance of these settings. The browser worked great, quickly moving from Web page to Web page. The GeoTrace It feature traces the path that Web page data takes across the Internet. We're not really sure why it's necessary to pinpoint the geographic origin of data, other than to help spot potential impostor sites, but its cool just the same. The Spider It feature worked very fast to find all the domains linked within a given Web site. From there, we were able to browse around using the links provided.
While it could use a little help in the design department, this browser is an effective and fun way to browse the Web. Even without a Help menu, we recommend it for users of all levels.
Publisher's description
From Marx Bitware :Designed around the Internet Explorer engine, Marx Geosearch Browser introduces some unique features. Not only does it perform standard Web browsing, but it also includes a visual trace route and built-in spider. The visual trace route uses Microsoft's Virtual Earth to plot the route your data takes across the Internet. Currently, the software is using free services to generate the routing information. Commercial versions are available with highly accurate databases. The built-in spider is a new approach to Web navigation. The spider searches the site you are currently viewing and lists every unique domain that it links to. This allows you to explore the Internet in a way normally not possible and avoid search engines.

Version: Marx GeoSearch Browser 1
Pros: The only thing nice about this program is when you click on the Tracert shortcut, it shows a map of a lot of different countries. And you can view the map as Hybrid, Aerial, Road, and you can zoom in on the map to get a larger view. And if you click 3D on the map, you could download maps in 3D.
Cons: When this program installs it puts four files on your desktop. And one file is defective, the one named Marx_GeoSearch_Browser. This file will not terminate and says CLR error: 80004005.
