Publisher's description
From MakeitOne :The MakeitOne MP3 Album Maker allows you to pack or join your MP3 files in a single file - whilst still allowing full playability (in any mp3 player), tag editing and unpacking. It supports SendTo, Drag n Drop and is the most efficient MP3 album maker/wrapper/joiner around. Version 3.04 has added user stored settings for Album Prefix and Suffix, corrected tab order of textboxes and fixed a couple of bugs.
Also I think the caption on download.com is misleading: Edit tag, pack, and unpack your MP3 files. Makes it sound primarily for tag editing, whereas primarily its for packing mp3 tracks into an album that can be unpacked later.

"Works great for joining audio books files"
Pros: I'm using it to join audio book MP3 files into a single MP3 to play on my Zune 80. Works great for this.

Version: MakeitOne MP3 Album Maker 3.04
"Reasonably good one-trick pony"
Pros: Being able to perform only thing is not really a charge that's gonna stick on a 136K program. It does what it says on the tin and quite fast too: You add a directory or a number of files by drag-and-drop or using the toolbar, enter the correct naming procedure and location of the output and press go. I can't really see the point of the 'reverse mode' as it applies only to files created using the program itself (it's not a splitter). The naming part is not optimal but not a huge problem either.
Cons: A windows explorer conetxt menu would be my preferred mode of adding files.
The program seems to suggest the lowest common denominator as regards bitrate but it does not resample the higher bitrate files. I had one 64kbps file amongst a number of 48kbps files which resulted in a somewhat strangely behaving lump of a file. I didn't listen through it but the length reported incorrectly so I'd advise to check for this sort of thing first.

"Not bad but didnt work in my car stereo"
Pros: I wanted this to merge some mp3 files that i have. It was a mixed CD made by a DJ friend but it kept stopping between tracks. This managed to do what i wanted it to do in super speed time.
Cons: The final product didn't work in my car stereo which is an mp3 player and plays every other disc i have ever tried in it.
Summary: Ill use this for making music disks for my home stereo but if i find another that will play in my car stereo then i shall move onto that one.
