Publisher's Description
From Vlad Alexa:
MagicPrefs is a free menubar and preference pane application for OSX which aims to improve the functionality and configuration options of the Apple Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad and the MacBook glass trackpad.
It features the ability to bind a variable number of finger clicks, taps, swipes, pinch and other gestures to functions like Middle Click , Hold Down Both Mouse Buttons , Spaces , Expose, Dashboard , Recent Applications, Tweet, Read Tweets, Google Reader etc.
Touch Sensitivity implements a single point control for a number of factors impacting the algorithms of the taps, swipes, pinch and other gestures.
Tracking Speed adds the ability to increase the maximum mouse speed by an extra 200%.
Also featured is a real-time display of the fingers touching the surface of the mouse that you can enable to test and monitor the way the mouse sees your input.
What's new in this version: Support for OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and miscellaneous fixes.

None. There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this program.
Summary
This app is a must have! You can do just about anything you want to with this program. Even have a neat Capslock reminder (similar to when you increase/decrease volume and brightness). Overall, this program is amazing! Download it now! You won't be disappointed. For MacOS Lion/Snow Leopard or older. Oh yeah, did I mention it's free?

""Free, visual set up features, complements Magic Mouse""
Version: MagicPrefs 2.3.2
Pros
Once you decide which functions you really need, Magic Prefs is smooth, unobtrusive, and adds the functionality that Magic Mouse should have. I have added middle click (Dashboard). That one added function makes downloading this free app worthwhile.
In addition, the real time view of finger positioning during setup is a wonderful feature as individuals will hold their hands/fingers ergonomically different.Cons
An abundance of possible redundant or overlapping functions that could take away from Magic Mouses' simplicity, and your computing sanity.
Summary
I would recommend adding Magic Prefs to your pref panes, even if you require just one added function.

"OK but not really necessary"
Version: MagicPrefs 2.2.2.72
Pros
Does it's job well.
Cons
Not found much of a need for it.
Summary
OK.

"I cannot wait to use it later when I upgrade to Lion."
Version: MagicPrefs 2.2.2.72
Pros
I use my fingers a lot with my iPad and cannot wait to use it with Lion.
Cons
It may mean getting trackpad for my iMac but can't wait for Lion.

"Does what I wanted and more"
Version: MagicPrefs 2.2.1
Pros
Works with iMac and on 30" monitor/MacBook Pro. Fully flexible to turn on/off features including keeping on vertical scroll while turning off horizontal scroll. Added multi-finger gestures is useful (esp. to Spaces).
Cons
Sooo many features, hard to decide what to try and use :)
Summary
Solved problems that Magic Mouse prefs inadequate for large screens and provided excellent control of which gestures to turn on/off. Also provided many additional useful gestures (and some I did not find I would use).

Version: MagicPrefs 2.0.2
Pros
used to work
Cons

Summary
Can't understand why the new version doesn't work
-
"This version is flawed."
Version: MagicPrefs 2.0b4
Pros
Earlier versions worked fine for me.
Cons
Too many bells and whistles in this version.
Summary
In this version, I turned on middle click to change cursor to finger, could not get it to shut off even after disabling and quitting this version. Finally un-installed it to get my magic mouse to run properly.

"A True Enhancement"
Version: MagicPrefs 1.8.3
Summary

I'm a little too uncoordinated to use many trackpad gestures but I do use MagicPrefs for restoring center button access to Dashboard and adding tracking speed. The developer is quite responsive to questions too. Very nice work! -
"Why Didn't Apple Add These Options?"
Version: MagicPrefs 1.8.2
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This is an outstanding app the features of which Apple should be ashamed of for not including in their original iteration of the MM.
I'm amazed that on the day 10.6.3 was released, the MagicPrefs guys were already on the case and had their update ready to go.
Bravo!!
