MRU-Blaster is a freeware utility that does just one thing: it scans your PC for your most recently used (MRU) files as well as cookies, browser caches, and other temporary repositories of potentially compromising information, displays them, and deletes them to your specification.
MRU-Blaster is a fairly powerful and comprehensive utility that can find and delete more than 30,000 files held by everything from Corel presentations to Google's toolbar history. It functions from the simple gray dialog that characterizes so many similar utilities: no frills, all business, and maximum efficiency and usefulness. You can add to its functionality with plug-ins, too. MRU-Blaster claims compatibility with all Windows versions from 98 to XP, but we tested it in Vista and it worked just fine.
There are several good reasons to use a utility like MRU-Blaster to do a simple task that Windows seems to handle well enough. One is that having a dedicated utility sometimes makes it easier to remember to do a job. Another reason is convenience; MRU-Blaster empties all your far-flung caches from a single program. But the best reason might well be that it does well what Windows "seems" to take care of. You don't have to Google far to turn up lots of evidence of built-in Windows features that don't quite do what they promise. If you're counting on Windows to safeguard your online privacy, you may be putting yourself at risk, and needlessly, given that there are free utilities like MRU-Blaster to hold up your end.

MRU-Blaster is a program made to do one large task - detect and clean MRU (most recently used) lists on your computer. These MRU lists contain information such as the names and/or locations of the last files you have accessed. They are located all over your registry, and for almost any file type. By looking at these MRU lists, someone could determine what files you opened/saved/looked at, what their file names were. (And, in many cases, the lists are displayed in drop-down menus automatically.) "Excellent cover up tracks program and privacy protector"

Pros
Program's speed is excellent when cleaning something recently. In Plugin options it contains Cookie-Blaster Plug-in and Internet Explorer Temporary Internet Files Cleaner Plug-in. Schedule option - possible to customize in intervals how you like.
Cons
None. Really i have no cons against.
Summary
Excellent little app for everybody who want to keep their own privacy. MRU-Blaster is one of the most automated Privacy Cleaners. You can adjust cleaning settings and intervals to suit your needs, you can tell the program to clean from every minute to further. I adjusted myself to clean every 3-5 minutes. I always do a lot of work on my PC. Encoding audio and video files, cultivating images, installing and uninstalling programs, reading lots of PDF documents, working in Microsoft Office etc... So it's normally that your Windows will leave behind traces and recently used files. His icon is minimized in system's tray and program is always in stand by mode ready to clean. With MRU-Blaster is like you don't even using your PC (makes it traceless). This program is excellent choice for everybody.

Pros
Does what it was created to do. No fluff, bloatware, nagware, or malware. It is a focused application with a single purpose and it does it well.
Cons
I have neither seen nor encountered anything that would warrant any cons so, I will leave it at that.
Summary
It performs a function that you could have Windows do itself but, it gives you the flexibility to decide when the action of blasting the MRU lists should be performed.
This application allows you to have a more relaxed approach to MRU's without sacrificing security as well as avoiding having to reset Windows settings continuously to achieve the same flexibility.
It has been around since the XP days and is still alive and kicking. It obviously has a development staff that is commited to the longevity of the product while keeping it freeware and that makes the download worth while ten fold.
It's hard not to be dedicated to a tool like MRU Blaster that's developed out of nothing more than dedication itself. I like it and will continue using post XP. If I need to blast an MRU list this bad boy is the one. -

I like the cookies and temp int files deletion settings.Cons
Seems very slow at deleting Temp Int Files when compared to IE and CCleaner.
A nicer desktop icon would be nice (I changed mine after installing)Summary
Although CCleaner has an MRU setting, it never really does delete them. MRUBlaster has a plain and simple job to do and it does it well.
