CNET Editors' review
This one-trick pony offers little extra functionality, but it does its job well enough and costs nothing. The application makes quick work of converting MP3s to uncompressed WAV files, and the interface is simple: just drag and drop files directly from Windows Explorer. You won't, however, find any special options for the WAV format besides the abilities to set the output folder and to add volume normalization. Also, you'll have to find additional software to burn audio CDs from WAV files. However, since the program is completely free, we can see how users new to the world of digital audio might appreciate MP3 to WAV Decoder's focused, no-frills approach.Publisher's Description
From MThree Development:
MP3 to WAV Decoder is a conversion tool that can simplify the process of burning CDs. The basic function is to create burnable WAV files from MP3 audio files. You can preview MP3s before decoding them and display ID3 information on the fly. Additional features allow you to eliminate corrupt MP3 files, normalize the outputted WAV files for consistent volume, and add unlimited files for quick-batch conversion.

"does what it supposed to do"
Version: MP3 to WAV Decoder 2.5
Pros
does what it supposed to do
batch processing possible
normalizing possibleCons
processes only 1 file at a time
no extended options like file renaming, adding or removing silences
Only converts mp3 to wav, nothing else.Summary
small program, which could easily be made as a standalone executable, instead of installing in windows.
So far no spyware detected by Norton Anti Virus, and runs perfectly fine on a windows XP!
I don't particularly like these type of small files to be installed on an operating system, as they clutter the system.
It would have been better to create a single exec file that would do this action.
It would be nice if the program supported direct show filters, so that all installed codecs can be used to de/encode files to the other format.
It would be a good program if I could directly encode mp3 to ogg for instance. I use this program mainly to encode mp3 to ogg, or flac to ogg, with wav as a middle process, as I don't have software that can do this function.
doing things this way gets it rid of tags.
