Though this faulty program is designed to test your processor and provide standards for future tests, it just doesn't deliver. MCS CPU Benchmark proved a bit confusing from the beginning when its Start menu folder didn't offer a shortcut to the program and we had to locate it in Windows Explorer. It does sport a clean, simple interface displaying real-time RAM and virtual memory capacity and usage, with limited menu options for a CPU test or for viewing processes or CPU information. After the test is completed, you're prompted to send results to the publisher or view and compare your results online with other users. However, in several tests, the latter option created a runtime error and the program closed without sending the information. Though there's a setting for optimizing your CPU, this requires installation of a separate program. With this freeware application's disappointing output, users should look elsewhere for a more effective way to evaluate their systems' capabilities.

  Version: MCS CPU Benchmark V5 5.03

  "Nice but too slow for my taste"

  Pros: Good interface, a lot of information at a glance, real time monitor of different values of your CPU

  Cons: The benchmark is too slow, I like quick results. The precision is affected by many other things anyway...
