"Update for Lion needed"
Version: Logitech Harmony Remote 7.7
Pros
Works reasonably well
Cons
I need to change some setup but I have lion now and am afraid I will screw it up
Summary
On a complex system, there are always some things you need the OEM remotes for so don't toss them out.
-
"Works like a charm"
Version: Logitech Harmony Remote 7.7
Pros
I needed the software, got it, used it
Cons
no cons whatsoever
Summary
cnet got me up and running thru my iMac
-
"Ended up using a Pro works great!"
Version: Logitech Harmony Remote 7.7
Pros
It seemed to fix my asking for help a lot more....
Cons
I couldn't figure out how to tell if it went in my 880
Summary
Had a pro service come out and they updated it and changed it from small dish to cable and it now works great with my apple TV PS3 big dish and FTA plus my old VCR.No more screw ups when I hit the button
-
"Lifts the TV, turns on entire system"
Version: Logitech Harmony Remote 7.7
Pros
Getting easier to use
Cons
Still has some confusing configurations that take a few tries to get things to work as they should
Summary
Was able to consolidate 4 separate controls into one remote. Yeah!
-
"It really is one remote that replaces all the others.."
Version: Logitech Harmony Remote 7.7
Pros
Actually works. Downloaded all the software needed to operate the equipment in my entertainment center - even an obscure subwoofer from Radio Shack that is 12+ years old.
Cons
There's is nothing to mention. Understand that this remote is replacing 3, 4 or more remotes. That means there will be a lot of buttons no matter what, so those buttons might be a bit smaller or more crowded than the ones you are replacing.
Summary
A remote that works and is useable for everyday usage.
-
"My wife can now turn on my system without swearing!"
Version: Logitech Harmony Remote 7.7
Pros
After setting up the various elements of my system, most everything works (might take a few cycles of the help function).
Cons
Some functions still seem to be missing on my DVD playback and my PS Audio Perfect Wave gear is still an unknown quantity to the unit, but at least you can easily start watching my Dish system without grabbing two or three different remotes.
Summary
Not perfect but it works better than any other integrated remote I've tried and it's easy to set up on your home computer. Bravo. Still looking for a few tweaks to make it work with everything in my system.
-
"fixed a few bugs, still disorganized."
Version: Logitech Harmony Remote 7.7
Pros
Somewhat faster response in loading/editing devices.
Cons
Device controls are presented in a dis-organized manner; fails to turn devices on/off reliable; does not show device options in a coherent manner.
Summary
does eliminate some complexity in my home theatre system (TV, Amp, DVD/VHS, CD, PVR), but should better organize the amplifier/tuners input selection, and other amp/tuner functions.
-
"A very necessary product and not hard to use."
Version: Logitech Harmony Remote 7.7
Pros
Great Product and easy to use
Cons
There is nothing I don't like
-
"Foolproof!"
Version: Logitech Harmony Remote 7.7
Pros
Easy to use, improves what's already the best integrated remote on the market
Cons
There's nothing I don't like about it!
Summary
The on-screen instructions are simple and effective. The software works flawlessly. The remote itself makes the control of complex home theater systems easy enough for a tech-challenged person.
