First, the good news: LogMeIn Free offers easy, secure, remote access to your Windows PC and its contents, file and desktop sharing, HD video and audio streaming, mobile device access, and more. The bad news: It's no longer free. The developer has "consolidated" to premium-only software.
Robust: LogMeIn's primary business is enabling remote support, so individuals and small users benefit from systems built for far more demanding needs.
Security options: Setting a Personal Password adds a layer of security. It can't be retrieved by LogMeIn staff.
Screen recording: LogMeIn Free can record onscreen video of active sessions. Other features include Event Logging, Remote Printing, and the Connection and Event Monitor.
File and desktop sharing: Files too large to email are easily shared through LogMeIn. You can invite trusted users to view your desktop and even share control of your keyboard and cursor, too.
It's not free: Our main objection to LogMeIn Free is that it's not free anymore. LogMeIn says it was necessary to change the terms of agreement, and it may have been. But they should change the name, too.
LogMeIn Free is easy to use, works well, and does a lot. It may well be worth its annual subscription, especially if the "home office" is also known as the family room. But this software shouldn't be called "Free," if it isn't freeware.

My company has used logmein for our employees to access their desktop machines when they're away from their desks. Until today we trusted logmein to have a presence on machines which have sensitive data on them. We trusted logmein with our data.
This year they hiked their price by 35% (from £189 to £249) and auto-renewed. I discovered the increase when I was reviewing the accounts. They say they sent me an email but I didn't see it. I called them to cancel the service and ask for a partial refund, however they will not turn the service off and they will not refund any of the fee they charged us.
They say that because we used it (in August, several of us were on holiday abroad and this is when we use it the most) they have to charge for the whole year.
From a security standpoint this means that if you are a logmein customer you have an agent installed on your machines provided by a company that will add services you have not requested to your account, change the amount of money they charge you without securing your consent and then take an increased sum from your account without your permission.
So the answer to the question "Will they also steal my data?" can only be "Well, they help themselves to money without asking, so it's best not to risk finding out."
This is the nature of a breach of trust.
Do not install the client, you cannot be sure they will act in your best interests, they certainly didn't in mine.

Price hikes over 50% EVERY year.
Auto renewals mean no credits if you don't want it anymore.
Will find your credit card details and charge you even if they have changed and you haven't given them to them.
STAY CLEAR OF THEM YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!!
Months later still trying to get my money back.
Search multiple forums to see these practices and poor customer service.
It was good for in network and not bad if you had a low resolution and had to operate at home.
The charging is very well hidden. I signed up for a free subscription, and I caught the 2nd time it charged my account. I contacted them but they didn't care. So I have another year of a program I don't want. This means I have paid 250'ish dollars for software I never used.
Company could use better customer support. They took a supporter of their software and ruined their experience with bad customer service.
Requires downloads on both ends. I work with older clients that find the navigation very confusing. Passing the presenter role to the client is an AWFUL process that I could very rarely get to work properly creating all kinds of confusion with clients. MIKOGO IS FAR SUPERIOR in ease of use (no downloads, no confusion sign in, flawless pass of presenter and controls separately). After 2 months using the LogMeIn Pro subscription I am told I will not be refunded ANYTHING for canceling my subscription.
Lack of refund is HORRIBLE business. I went from being disappointed in the service to being a rabid hater.

it does work, once you figure out whether to start from browser or app.
HOWEVER, the software will make unwelcome changes to the settings on your local drive. Messed up my Chrome settings, forced searches through Yahoo (there's a reason I use Google) and corrupted one of the extensions (that dictates how new tabs open). Logmein now has been DELETED!

liked it, paid for it for a while, but then stopped using it because company went in different direction.
You cannot remove your credit card or stop service from account portal. I thought I did as I stopped using the service, and found a charge on my credit card for a new service at $299, after 30 days.
they moved me to advanced services and started charging me more for logmein central... Called, No refund even after they agreed that I didnt use the service at all for many months. Don't give them your credit card.
I had an annual subscription which I forgot about as I no longer used it. Saw on my credit card that £52 had been taken. Phoned LogMeIn and they stated that 'As per our T's&C's' blah blah they can't refund the money. No reminder was sent. I see this as unethical. So I am very annoyed with LogMein. Don't use it!
