Lock Secret is a batch based file encryption and decryption utility that can secure from one to 99 files at a time. Lock Secret can also create archives from one or more files as a convenient way to store or transmit encrypted files. Lock Secret uses the very strong Blowfish encryption system. Encipher and decipher keys can be password-generated, random-generated or file-based, almost any file can be used for a key. Ideal for business and home great for transferring important data over open, and vulnerable mediums such as the Internet.

The program works well for encrypting a large number of files, but isn't as solid as similar tools. Lock Secret's mundane interface is easy enough to understand and comes with tool tips and a help file. You can conveniently drag and drop files into the interface, and save them as a batch list. The program saves Blowfish-encrypted files individually or in an archive. This utility easily works with multiple files. The Key Generator quickly creates random key files or user-specified passwords or text files. These key files are necessary to encrypt or decrypt files. Any recipient must install the program and possess the appropriate key file to decrypt. Since these keys must be saved or given to others, they are not as secure as two-key encryption tools. Lock Secret doesn't include a file shredder to securely erase originals nor can it create self-extracting files. Worse, it can't encrypt folders or password-protect access to the application. Its feature set isn't up to many other programs, but this freeware utility works just fine for anyone with occasional batch-encryption needs.
