• An essential system tool

  Pros

  It does one job well and clearly makes daemon management easy. It has a good clean interface and presents the requisite cautions to give explorers pause before they mess up their system.

  Cons

  This tool has no cons.

  Summary

  I do not use this application much, but when I do, it works intuitively. It cautions people when they are getting into an area of system management that can make a big mess. There are three tools that every developer and serious administrator needs on a system, Lingon, Carbon Copy Cloner and OnyX. These tools all fulfill a systsem management requirement really well and are all on a high professional level.

• Simple GUI for startup items

  It's a simple, and free startup item editor. It's a simple app with a defined purpose. It does what it needs to do without an issue

  None that I can think of

  If you don't want to mess with the CLI to change startup items, get this.It works, and it's safe to use

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I regulary used Lingon 1, but with v2, I had to return to launchctl in CLI, it's way too poor compared to Lingon 1. <br> At least, if you don't want to burden with including an "advanced mode", let Lingon 1 run with Leopard, I guess that launchctl hasn' t been <b>that</b> changed. <br> Thx, Xav

And it's a feature many people want - to run things at startup time and periodically. Version 2 make things easier and more obvious. Although 2.0.1 still needs a bug fix or two, the developer is very responsive and this is great software.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />...in the first quick test. nice feature-set, too: warnings, whenever you're about to change system-stuff, assistent, nice editor,... some typos and strange expressions in the ui, but nothing that effects efficiency. it would be nice, if you hadn't to give the password all the time. niceprize ;) 4 points!
