  Too brief even for a basic introduction. Perhaps the major scales and Chromatic scales could have been explained.

  Covers the material. Would suit outright beginner, even a child. Could be used as a reference.

  Cons

  No originality in learning method. Its about as exciting as learning multiplication tables or spelling. Exactly what I was given as a kid 60 years ago. That's why I gave up piano lessons !

  Summary

  Ranks as on ot the most boring books I have read. Get into the 21st Century. There are hundreds of books that make the topic fun.
