This powerful Web browser puts you in control of your children's surfing activities, but it requires an additional program for some settings to work. KidSafe Explorer's simple interface is preloaded with kid-friendly sites and a number of password-protected parental configurations. It offers standard navigational browser buttons, but parents can determine which buttons and toolbars should appear on the browser. Web site restrictions effectively blocked sites not listed on the Favorites list and those containing restricted keywords. It successfully prevented files from downloading and includes an easy-to-set countdown timer to regulate the amount of time kids spend online. Some features require program restarts or even a system reboot to take effect, but, with its good results, we can't complain much. Impressively, this kid-friendly browser tool restricts access to the desktop and is very well protected against common shutdown methods, though it requires an additional security program to run this feature. Bonuses such as pop-up blocking, user activity logs, and cache clearing all worked well during assessments. Overall, we highly recommend KidSafe Explorer to parents who want fun but safe online browsing for their kids.

Publisher's description

From Arlington Technology :

KidSafe Explorer is a children's Web browser that allows parents and teachers to control which sites children may access. Access is controlled by a password-protected and encrypted list of KidSafe Favorites, which are defined by the supervisor. The Favorites list can be shared in a classroom environment to simplify administration. The supervisor can also apply extra security; blocking access to other programs, for example. KidSafe Explorer features a simple and colorful interface designed to appeal to children. This version adds sorting, copy, cut, and paste functionality to the configuration screen.
