Outstanding, FREE Resume Writer

- Neither Kaspersky nor Avira detected any kind of virus or malware with this program, either prior to the download, after the download, nor after the installation. Clearly, the previous reviewer had some kind of inferior product that gave a false positive. There was no kind of adware attached to this product from the cNet download, but if you're in doubt, check the reply from the company's president to the guy with the review stating that it's full of viruses, etc. You can read that, check out the company website and do your own internet research on the company. However, I chose to read the thorough reviews and trust both cNet and my own set of extensive, up-to-date security tools and everything checks out just fine. Both this product and the Career Igniter Resume Builder are nice, fairly simple, free products that will help you quickly put together a resume. You can always tweak your resume later in MS Word. You can spend a ton of time and money on the millions of templates and pieces of software that do the exact same thing as these free products. The free versions are completely free and they provide everything required in a straightforward resume, that you would type on your own, just like in any college classroom writing course. They're free because they're that basic, that simple and that readily available everywhere online or via downloads. If you need more, you can see what the paid products provide you and decide if you need more help.

- I'm biased because I have been a long time JobTabs user. I am providing this review, because after telling the people at JobTabs how much I love their programs they basically said, "Don't tell us, tell the world!" They said download.com was close enough, so I am writing to totally endorse this free resume builder. I didn't know I could upgrade the application I had purchased several years ago and use the new resume builder they built into it. My bad! Since I had been so happy with the original product, I tried this thing. Much like their original product this is very well written. Well thought out and addresses all the headaches people have when they are tweaking their resume. Which is why the people at JobTabs built a "Tweakery" for their resume builder. You can tweak the page margins, line height, bullets, and everything to make it look perfect!

- The only cons are the B.S. artists who get on this download.com site and trash talk other programs. I read the one and two star reviews and they are total crap. This resume builder is free - plain and simple. There is no bait and switch, there is no hidden $49 fee, there is no virus, none of that. Don't believe me? Pick up the phone and call the people at JobTabs. Their number is on their website and, with their permission, it is right here: 404-255-0248. These are real people on a real mission to help job seekers when they are looking for a job. I know because I have called them up and spoken to them. I had some questions I emailed to tech support and to my surprise, using the phone number from my auto-generated signature, they called me to answer them! That is when I knew I had a working relationship with these people. And when you are alone in the world looking for a job - that is one of the most important things in the world!

- This resume builder is excellent. It is one hundred percent free. The people at JobTabs do sell ANOTHER product called "JobTabs Job Search & Resume Builder" for $29.95, but "JobTabs Free Resume Builder" is FREE! If you read the help file, they will tell you that the whole reason they developed the free resume builder is to stem the flood of job seekers who are getting ripped off from the supposedly "online free resume builder" companies. The online free resume builder people are crooks. Google "resume builder scams" and you will see what I am talking about. Then download JobTabs free resume builder and consider yourself liberated. If you find out otherwise, pick up the phone, dial 404-255-0248 and eat their rear ends out. Otherwise, spread the word about a real free resume builder and some people who are genuinely motivated to help so many others in their job search - including me. <smiley face>

- The only truly professional package on ths site. That it is free is even better. I checked out a lot of the other packages on this site before I settled on this one. It is far and away the best.

- The only cons are all the other extremely lame packages I had to wade through to find this one. Really, so many of the other packages are not even average. One of the packages (can't remember which one) would not even allow me to edit my resume. I could save the resume, but if I exited the program any prospect of editing the resume was kaplooey. In other words, I made a typo and then had to recreate the resume from scratch just to fix the one typo. Most of the other packages are equally bad.

- Installation was easy. very easy to use even though I have not used it yet.

- Too bad they giving you something for free, but only for two weeks. Then you have the option to buy the license for $49.50 for life. Or you can withdraw by deleting all software and pay absolutely nothing.

- Too many bait and switch resume builders out there to mention. I read about this online and lo' and behold it is true. If fact, if you read their help file they tell you that the whole reason they created the free resume builder was to quell the uproar from so many job seekers who had been scammed by the sites that supposedly had 'free resume builders' but in fact use bait and switch tactics to get your money. This is a free resume builder. Print your resume or save your resume as a pdf, docx, doc, html, etc. All free. You don't have to give them an email address or anything. Just build a resume and roll!

- No cons whatsoever. I will admit that I didn't know how to save my resume as a pdf, so I was beginning to think this might be a scam. Not so. Click the 'Build Resume' button (with the lightning bolt next to it) and the go to the menu File -> Export... Using the Export command you can save your resume in all of the different formats that they offer.
