CNET Editors' review
During installation, you have to be careful if you don't want to set JetAudio Basic as the default application for audio and video files. However, the freeware application gives you plenty of reasons to make it your only player.
The interface has a modern design that looks like an equalizer. You can customize each section of the program, from CD ripping to format conversion, to your heart's content. The program can convert files among some a number of formats, as well as read and edit MP3 tags. The built-in Cross-fader, Reverb, and Wide-sound modes provide a nice touch not found in most MP3 players. The program becomes truly unique with its clock, however, which features a timer and an alarm. We also appreciate the inclusion of a tool for seeking out song lyrics.
Our only quibble is it treats a playlist as an album but uses the artist as its primary key field, making it difficult to locate mixes. JetAudio Basic's appealing product set should attract audiophiles.

"The most versatile and best sounding player I used."
Version: JetAudio Basic 8.0.16
Pros
Jet Audio plays almost anything one throws at it and the codecs are really good. Many formats sounds better with Jet Audio, even without using the enhancers or the equalizer. 3K and 4K videos play smoothly while the other couple of players that can play them have problems, like stuttering, taking ages to open or relocate to some part of the video. The GUI is very beautiful and put other players to shame. It also coexists with other software and codec packs without any problems. Highly recommended! Just try once and listen to realize the difference.
Cons
Still trying to find one, maybe the number of features being so high will be a problem for some and not enough bells and whistles for others. My only problem was the difficulty in configuring it to play some IP based sources manually.
Summary
It is a top quality AIO Audio and Video player with all the features one may need. Whatever other players do, Jet Audio usually does better.

"It's the one I use"
Version: JetAudio Basic 8.0.16
Pros
Have been using this program for years. I have experimented with others but nothing lures me away from jetaudio. Clean uncluttered interface if you set your preferences correctly. Very good sound quality - I mostly listen to lossless classical music on an own built system, with the best components including a sound card. Does good quality rips, although these days I do tend to use dbpoweramp for that. JA rips to most formats and my program includes mp3 for both ripping and conversion unlike singapurr's!
Cons
As singapurr states it their review, it is not the most intuitive interface but like most complex full featured programs it is easy enough to learn, and once learnt it is easy! Fancy codecs...really? FLAC is THE standard for lossless ripping that is supported by many devices in 2011. Check out
http://flac.sourceforge.net/links.htmlSummary
Suggest you give it a try - it's free so what have you got to lose? I like JA and hope you do too. Oh and it works just fine with Windows 7 x64.
