  Misleading. Waste of money.

  Summary

  Non-responsive web standalone reader. Doesnt play nice with Squarespace. For all the time and effort, could have hired someone to build me a custom code. Also, forcing my customers to sign up for an ISSUU account to download my FREE catalog? (But dont worry, you get 25 free downloads. I'm sure that will satisfy our 50k+ mailing list). Waste of time, effort, and money.

  In spite of being responsive, they were ironically 100% unwilling to work with us on retroactively canceling our subscription, and even let another automatic billing cycle occur while our emails were taking place -- ridiculous.

  Summary

  We signed up for an account last summer and have not used it since, and I accidentally did not cancel it (my intern signed up for it). I run a very small non-profit so I asked if they could please refund my payments as this was an accidental charge and we did not use their service. Any normal company would provide a refund -- to their credit, they answered me many times, but insisted that they could not issue a refund. I rarely leave poor reviews of anyone anywhere, but I am very dissatisfied and feel take advantage of. Robbed even.

  Cons

  Submitted a ticket to Issuu Sunday night. It's Thursday afternoon and still no response. Funny thing though, when I cancelled my credit card I got an email right away. Automated? Probably.... but when the email came in I was very disappointed to find out it wasn't in answer to my concerns. No response on Facebook or Twitter. They simply use social media as a means to broadcast themselves, certainly not to listen or build relationships. No Review opportunity on Facebook or Google+. I wonder why????

  Summary

  If you expect service for your $39/month premiums and to be treated like a PERSON, this is not the company for you.

• Completely unusable - can't read any content

  - unable to zoom into a newspaper to actually read it. - difficult to find help forum - previous users asked the same question, being unable to zoom in, another user had replied "just double-click, easy peasy!" - double clicking doesn't zoom in - no toolbar or magnifying glass, not user friendly at all - completely useless website if your users can't read your content

  Summary

  it's difficult to imagine how you created a publication website that made it impossible to readers to actually read the published content. Too difficult to participate in help forums, decided to just review the site instead.

  Watch out - they trick you into automatic renewal. And then won't refund any of the annual fee. Some might regard this as a blatant scam.

  Kind of has a magazine look.

  Cons

  One of those companies where they trick you into automatically renewing services and won't back down -- not even to charge you for a month instead of a year. Also, kind of aggravating to read any text-heavy documents on it. And from what I understand, doesn't play well with Apple products.

  These guys must be taking a leaf out of the deceptive "Docstoc, DocShots" book. Issuu claims to have a "Smartlook" feature, yet, if you look at their forum complaints about it NOT existing at all. Issuu still continues to ignore customers for support

  Summary

  Its a scam, same as Docstoc, only Docstoc now admits in their FAQ that their fake "preview" feature doesn't work. Don't expect any support.

• Stolen content found online, ISSUU refuses to remove it

  No way of resolving issues regarding stolen online content appearing on their site.

  Summary

  I wrote a piece of fiction and posted it in Scribd, copyrighted. Some shmuck posted it on ISSUU as his. I have told ISSUU over and over and they refuse to do anything about it. The email address they gave me to send a "formal" complaint to doesn't work. It is unacceptable to allow stolen content on the site. Period. The way they have not handled this problem is unacceptable.

• Incredible, not other word for it

  Pros

  This is by far the best viewer I've seen - including the ones you pay top dollar for! Vector graphic, full screen view (the only place I've seen this). And it's free. Free! They also have a neat community where you have your own library with stuff for your and from your friends. Truly uniqe.

  Cons

  I am a business owner and would like to customize a bit - even if it means paying for it. But I'm sure this is something they are working on. Currently I am using the standard package and have see a lot of additional traffic to my site because of Issue.
