this reliably installs "Stealth Web Page Recorder" You can get rid of it by deleting Registry entries which refer to "Blazing"
Summary
I do not expect this level of malware coming from a CNET download???
Super program
rytny
Pros
What a super prog, even though I have a "block all" option via my firewall it always caused an "invalid IP" issue during boot up. This proggie is 100% clean (downloaded directly from the author's site) and running perfectly on W7 Pro 64-bit. A keeper!
Cons
None at all
Summary
BEWARE! SCAMWARE!!! Much worse than a waste of time.
ginberryblue
Pros
None! It installs 12 pieces of sneaky, hard-to-remove adware.
Then when you uninstall the adware it AUTOMATICALLY removes the functional bit you wanted!
Yes, you read that right. Very badly written software.
Cons
1. ONLY works if you leave the annoying adware installed!!!
2. Installs every kind of sneaky, hard-to-remove, annoying, time-consuming add-on -- firewall, homepage changer, toolbars, games, search engine changer/locker, "backup manager", pop-ups, and who knows what else, some of which are stealthily named or otherwise difficult to remove.
Summary
I've had lots of experience installing free software that comes with "features" that you don't want and must uninstall. I often accept the uninstall as the price of the freeware.
But this DOES NOT WORK, and is BY FAR the worst SCAMWARE offender I've ever encountered.
