CNET Editors' review
This application handles some basic privacy chores just fine, but we did experience a couple of performance and stability problems. Internet Sweeper's boring interface might make you yawn, but at least it's self-explanatory. You simply check boxes to clean up your surfing history in Internet Explorer and AOL (the free version disables the cleaning of Opera and Netscape). You'll also find tools for tidying up a few areas of the Windows system, such as the Recycle Bin and the Recent Documents list, but you can't clean up after third-party apps or securely shred files. Internet Sweeper offers an option for overwriting files after deletion, but checking this box caused the program to consistently freeze. The built-in pop-up blocker worked quite well, although its prowess against Flash ads is decidedly poor. Inexperienced IE users looking for a fast privacy solution might like this application, but power users are bound to crave a more versatile solution.Publisher's Description
From Emery Info-Engineering:
Erase information stored in Windows about Internet sites visited. This program is free (although donations are appreciated) and fully functional. It automatically runs when the computer boots, the user logs in, or browsers are closed. It works with all 32-bit Windows programs and with all major browsers (Internet Explorer, Navigator, Opera, and now AOL). It erases the cache, history, cookies, addresses, passwords, and temporary files, and closes pop-up windows in browsers, including AOL.

"A great privacy cleaner."
Version: Internet Sweeper 1.8.4
Pros
Internet Sweeper will clean what you want it to clean by checking the boxes you want to clean.
Temporary internet files, cookies, typed URL addresses, auto complete forms, and passwords.
And cleans recent documents, recycle bin, temp directory, find documents, find computer history and open run history.
On options you can choose if you want internet Sweeper in the task bar or not if you want it in the task bar check system tray icon.

"Does what it says it does. Fine product."
Version: Internet Sweeper 1.8.4
Pros
Simple to use, never crashed my computer.
I like the automatic cleanup function after you close your browser. No need to do it yourself all the time. I bought the registered version 2 years ago and needed another copy of it (could not find the one sent to me at that time). Sent him an e-mail and he sent me a new copy right away (in a matter of hours). So I don't understand why some reviews report problems in communication (?). Try again, he has been great to deal with all the time.
Cons
If I have to suggest an improvement it could be adding a function that explains, in more details, all possible settings. I am NO pro so I might not be benefiting from all features since I shy away from experimenting too much. Maybe a link to a library on the web-site, examples or what would happen and FAQ. Just a thought.

"free and simple management of internet debris & cookies"
Version: Internet Sweeper 1.8.4
Pros
easy to use, simple free program that will clean internet debris with one click including history, temp internet files, cookies, etc at user's option and easy to manage cookie option to protect certain cookies from deletion that may be needed; also has options for passwords and internet explorer's autocomplete function which i leave unchecked; contrary to cnet review i have not had a stability issue when using the overwrite deletion option after several years of use on several computers and i have also found that some expensive programs are harder to manage than this free one.
Cons
you must pay a few bucks to avoid a message about making a contribution but this is a minor annoyance and some may prefer using an expensive program like the one from webroot that does much the same but adds a couple of features like cleaning free space which i find to not be worth the price.

"Wow!!!"
Version: Internet Sweeper 1.8.4
Pros
This is a good piece of small program, it really did the job and it speeds up the browsing time. Download this and eCleaner use it together and u will realize that ur browsing time is faster.
Cons
none. nothing i should complaint about this program because it's free!

"Whoa!"
Version: Internet Sweeper 1.8.4
Pros
I started this program for the first time, and almost thought it had locked up on me. Little did I know that it was working itself crazy. By the time it had finished, the program had removed over 35,000 potentially harmful entries from my system! I love the fact that it allows you to configure the sweep to keep your passwords and auto complete entries in tact. If you don't have this, get it.
Cons
It doesn't allow you to decided what cookies to keep or delete, but that is a relatively minor issue to me. The control panel may be a little drab, but for a freeware program that does what this one does, that is absolutely nothing to complain about.

"Quick detection and deletion of programs that don't belong."
Version: Internet Sweeper 1.8.4
Pros
Easy to use; quick cleaning; inexpensive
-
"Simple, effective, and cheap!"
Version: Internet Sweeper 1.8.4
Pros
This program neatly cleans up your cache, cookies, index.dat file, and other traces. It even allows you to "wipe" these data instead of merely deleting them. While the user interface isn't particularly pretty, it gets the job done simply. Great product for very little money.
Cons
The user interface is basic, but hey, this isn't a program you need to look at often -- you just let it run and forget about it. One minor beef; on the latest version, I can't find where to select which cookies to keep.
